What does Rob Zombie do better?

I think Rob Zombie does music better. His music is great. He is one of the best metal acts around now a days. His movies are decent I liked Devil's Rejects but House Of 1000 Corpses was my assumption of an acid trip. Thoughts?

I love his music. And his movies(When They are original ideas!) What I don't like is him ripping off John carpenter. Carpenter was a genius. I love Zombie. But halloween took him down many pegs in my book.Many Pegs. White Zombie rules

White Zombie does rule Its good to know there is another metalhead on Fantasy Moguls. I am proably not going to see Halloween in theaters because i think it looks bad but i might see it on DVD.

Speaking of metal heads. Anybody else want to hear some more All That Remains in credit music. Another part of Saws greatness. Great credit music. Underworld and Saw were always the best movies to clean to. That and Shark Boy and Lava Girl. Jk. I'll be watching Halloween. But only cause it's free. I'll be criticizing the crap out of it though so it had better be ready.

Defintley All That Remains is great also awesome they are from Massachusetts my home state. I want to hear some more Mastodon in credits since they are the greatest modern metal band.

I wish I was from Massachusetts. They've had a killer metal scene lately. All dallas has now is frickin emo bands. I drove an hour and a half to see my friends play. I walk by a well know rock club and see 14 and 15 year old girls slutted out standing in line to get in. What is this world coming to. where are the parents seriously. And coming from a teenager thats pretty bad. It doesn't say much for the texas rock scene anymore. Sorry Pantera. We've failed you.

Texas has got nothing now a days Massachusetts has got All That Remains,Shadows Fall,Killswitch Engage,Unearth[who is from the town right next to me living in the suburbs its a miracle to say there is a band from the suburbs],Rob Zombie,Godsmack, So many other good ones. Massachusetts has got a great scene do you have any bands from Texas besides Pantera anyways cRAzy?

Not that I can think of off the top of my head. Wish there was though. You are right. Pretty much all the bands you just named are some of my favs. Mass. has produced some killer bands in the past few years. I wish dallas could get its metal scene back but I don't see that happening any time soon. Although I just found out All that Remains is playing at the door October 31 and I hope to god I can get that day off. p.s. Does your state have as much emos as texas right now. Cause they're getting really annoying.

amen. Its the only music with real talent left in it. They may use bad ass sound effects. But at least they still sing live and not lip sync. Not too mention the emo bands only have singers that are remotely talented. They got nothing in the guitar drum section. Once they run out of little pansies to screech in a microphone, they're reign will be over.. Ha Ha Haa.

Okay, let me address Zombie "ripping off" John Carpenter. Rob Zombie wasn't jumping up and down saying, "Let me remake Halloween!!!". He was approached by the Weinsteins and Malek Akaad and asked to do something with the series. A remake was all but inevitible, so at least we didn't end up with Lindsay Lohan as Laurie Strode being chased by Ashton Kutcher in a Michael Myers mask. Zombies movie has flaws, but it's nowhere near as bad as some so called experts are making it out to be.

whoa whoa whoa. Who said the movie was bad. I thought the remake was great. I just think he should have went ahead and done a prequel. I love Zombies movies. And if anybody had to do this movie I'm glad it was zombie. My point being that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the original. It was an effing classic. Now its not. when people talk about halloween now its gonna be about Zombies version and I have a feeling that the original will die out with the generation that grew up loving it. and lets not forget they're doing more movies with Freddy and Jason. Yeah the movies are probably gonna be really cool. But wheres the effing originality at. Why do you think the old horror movie icons are doing movies like Behind the mask and Hatchet now. Because they're new school horror. Its not that lame crap they get from japan. And its definatley not a dam remake.They are trying to save the genre and I'm just glad there are companies like lions gate who are around to give a crap load of money to something that might be overlooked but has potential to be the next big classic horror movie of our generation. And you can call Saw torture porn all you want but do you really think that many people would pay that much money to go see a movie that had no storyline and did nothing but kill people in cool ways. Saw has one of the best origianl horror movie scripts in at least the past ten years. So praise the remakes all you want. But true movie making genius comes from the guys who take a chance and make something worth remembering.

I'm not saying the first Saw is pure genius- it's not and I really like the film. What it is is a movie based not ona story but a compelling question- what would you do to survive? How much are you willing to fight for your life? I think that is why I never the desire to see the rest of them. The nature of the movie was changed. It became about the masochistic teacher, not the lesson. Zombie's films are pure trashy glorious cult films. They are what John Watters films were in the early 70's- unique, bold visions unlike anyone else in the era that pushed the boundaries of taste and definitions of 'quality'.

I think we're being a little hard on Rob Zombie. He's grown with each film and 'Halloween' is his best effort so far. You've got to watch it less as part of the 'Halloween' series (which, I admit, seems completely contrary) and watch it as more of a 1970's throwback, Grindhouse slasher-porn homage. Modern setting, 70's B-list all-stars and a paean with a nod to the roots it drinks from. High art? Heck no -- but an accomplished slasher flick that doesn't disrespect where it came from.

Exactly. While it was a really good movie in it of itself. It's not really anything thats going to be remembered. Not like the original will be. If you judge it as a movie not related to the halloween it was frickin awesome in my opinion. Compared to the John Carpenter version. Ka Put. Nada. It sucked.

I had to place my vote(At this time) with music.Just because 3 films is to small of a sampling.I totally agree with A_Roode that Rob has grown more as a director with each film.I am a fan of his unique style of bloodletting fun. Late

Who would you have really rather directed tarintino? Seriously though. I don't think anybody still making movies today could've done a better job on this than Zombie did. House of a 1000 corpses pretty much put lions gate on the map. That and Saw. Zombie is one of the only creative Original Horror movie directors left. Let's not try to upset the guy. Okay.

If anybodys has read my footloose forums and many many other posts they would know I would agree with you 100% and I pretty much can't stand remakes.
