Ok.. So I finally finished compiling and putting the list in order. Damn was it hard. It was literally painstaking. Especially when it got to around the top 35 films. Now because I want to be different, and because I am going to build anticipation and keep everyone (who actually cares) guessing, I am only going to release the list 5 movies at a time. I will update it every day with 5 more until the top 10 which I will reveal one at a time. Most of you should know by now what the top couple films on the list will be, but if you have forgotten, you will have to wait to be reminded. If there are any glaring absenses from the list, well then I probably havent seen that particular film. Or I just don't like it as much as these 100. Again, these are my 100 favorites, not the 100 best. I hope you enjoy the list starting with numbers 100-96.

101. A Christmas Story
100. Rush Hour
99. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
98. Snatch
97. Mission: Impossible II
96. The Bad News Bears

Feel free to discuss, ridicule and hate me for not just posting the list all at once. But hey, its my baby, I get to choose how I want to reveal it

Mission Impossible 2? Really? I thought that was easily the worst one of the trilogy.

And I thought it was the best. I'll tell ya right now I'm sure a lot of these films will be considered odd or controversial to be on the list. Just a matter of personal taste. Feel free to comment on any film I post, that's what I'm listing it here for.

Aww, how can any person who was ever a child not have A Christmas Story on their list? "You'll shoot your eye out kid. Ho Ho Ho."

Nice twist Geez. Are you going to simply edit your first post with the next part or post a new 5? If you are doing it that way I think you are trying to catch up with Herald in post count. LOL

Although I have to say I am sad to see Eternal Sunshine so far down but at least it made it. I think we do have to remember age when looking at these lists. I was thinking that MI:2 was an odd choice also but then I remembered that Geez is 10 years younger than me. When MI:2 came out he was a teenager (barely) so I understand. I have Best of the Best on my top 100 for the same reason. I was 12 when it came out and practicing martial arts so it was one of my favorites.

I will try to keep that in mind with the other lists as well for those whose age I know.

I plan on making a new post so everyone doesnt have to go back to page one for each update. It has nothing to do with post count, except it would be cool if it coincidentally was my 1000 that ended the list. I'd have to be quite busy posting on other threads to do that though. And you are righ Donte, I was 12 when I first saw it in theaters. I actually saw it before the first one. That may be why I like it better. I just think it has the best storyline and the motorcycle scene is nothing short of awesome. And about Eternal Sunshine, I almost left it off, but I had to include it because it was just so good. Just not quite as enjoyable and rewatchable as some of the others. I've only seen it twice, but I do love it and couldn't leave it off. And as far as A Christmas Story goes, I've seen it maybe more than any other film, just because I watch it a couple times every Christmas. It's great.

Ok the Care Bears suck but boy did I love Howard the Duck when I was a tyke. I would have been about 10 when I saw it and at that point my favorite movie was Rocky 4. A talking duck fighting evil was the shit.

Christmas story is classic for anybody under 40. And sometimes older, as my dad loved it also.

Damn NSpannaus how did you know? Just kidding... I've never seen either Howard the Duck or the Care Bears Christmas special... I'm sure they are both "special" in their own right.... Go ahead and keep guessing though (even though that was an obvious joke). This is more fun than I thought.

Do you really think age has that big an influence? I was born in the same year as Geezer (87) and i thought it was crap. Personal taste has little to do with age i believe.

No offense Geez, i was just trying to make a point about age, i'm not trying to do a personal attack or anything, i'm sorry if it came out that way.

Anyway, I'm doing a totally blind 3 movie guess for next on you list and i'm going with; The 13th Warrior, Comando, and Liar Liar..

Was i even close..

Very cool, geeze. It's like one of those VH1 Top 100 countdowns, where they reveal only twenty per hour.

Here's my take on your worst of the best:

#100. Christmas Story - okay, we were all kids once, I'll give you that one.
#99. Rush Hour - the only really good one of the bunch. "Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth??" Still works today.
#98. Eternal Sunshine - just couldn't get throught it. Too mind-fucky for me.
#97. Snatch - classic.
#96. MI:2 - my least favorite of the three, but not bad. Typical Woo.

My bet for #95: Good Will Hunting.

I don't want to give it away early so you will just have to wait and see... I love the guesses though, it is really interesting. And I didn't take offense Barca, I really don't care if someone offends my taste. Its not like its going to change my mind. If that were the case I wouldn't be posting it. I will tell you this, you aren't even close (I've only seen Liar Liar out of the 3) and Shryke jumped the gun on his call. Thats all I'll say on that. Trust me, there are much "worse" films on my list than MI 2. I'm sure more people will be scratching their heads the more movies I release.

I never liked any of the Mission: Impossible films. Once you saw one, you saw them all.

It hurts me to see Eternal Sunshine on the same level as Rush Hour and MI2... !!!! lol

As for A Christmas Story, Donte... well, I've never seen it... that classic never really made it to France I guess....

Chien you have to remember that it is not a best films list, it is a favorite films list... And I'm warning you now Chien, I really think you will hate my list in general. Not a single foreign film on it, just fair warning (because I haven't seen them, but we've already had that discussion and I don't really want to start that up again). Like I said Eternal Sunshine barely made the list, it was one of the last ones to make the cut. I would have felt bad if I didn't include it because it really is good, just not one I will watch over and over.
