Which movie do you think will grab the most cash in the december-february league?

I personally think it's gonna be I Am Legend.

I would love to see Sweeney Todd kick some ass, but I think I Am Legend will win.

How do you know for certain that I Am Legend is PG-13? It looks like it will be, but I haven't seen any official word. There's nothing on BoxOfficeMojo, and they're usually quick to post new ratings. Even searching for "I Am Legend" directly on the MPAA's website yields only the 1971 "Omega Man."

So, it is going to be PG-13? Wow. Before, when I thought it was going to be R I called it at over 200mil...and now it's demographic just opened by 4 years...It might kick it's own ass. Without a doubt, this is going to be the movie to own this holiday season. As much as The Golden Compass and National Treasure are going to make there's just nothing stopping I Am Legend right now. Not with a PG-13. TGC as everyone knows has plenty of detractors, which might actually help it, but besides that it is a very familiar movie, and I'm not sure if people are going to want to see The Chronicles of The Lord of The Neverending Fantasy Franchise Onslaught. Whereas National Treasure, which is easily Legend's biggest competition, might also get some boycotting of it's own. Helen Mirren in a crappy action-adventure SEQUEL? I would like to blame first and foremost the Academy. I'm not even sure where the rest of this post is going...and I for one don't care to find out.

I was going for National Treasure if I Am Legend was an R, but PG-13?

Somebody warm up Will's crown for him, he's coming for it again.

I'm a bit surprised nobody voted for Cloverfield. It's hard to estimate how well it will be received but it certainly looks good to me. But maybe JJ waited too long with releasing a new trailer and the official name.

I don't think anything comes even close to 'Cloverfield' in January but I suspect it isn't strong enough to out-muscle 'I Am Legend,' 'NT2' or potentially 'The Golden Compass' -- 'Compass' has the greatest possibility of under-performing in what is a very safe field of four.

'Cloverfield' makes me a bit nervous but that mostly comes from the timing of its release. February is a film burial ground where you dump movies that you don't know when to release. September tends to be a lot like that too. January tends to be a month of low confidence and pessimism. If the movie was strong enough or good enough it would have been released in December when there is a massive box office presence. January shows a total lack of confidence. This is, I admit, a generalization on my part and anyone industrious will find examples of January box office success. Some movies shake the trend and 'Cloverfield' will probably be one of them based upon the marketing thus far. But it might also have a massive opening weekend (biggest January opening ever?) before it withers away. I'll let my confidence match the studio's for the time being.
