Maybe they're counting late-August as really early September.

I haven't even seen a preview for it. It sounds interesting enough. But until I see a preview it will probably be a very long time before I consider watching it. And I'm pretty sure they're not releasing halloween on Halloween because another very popular horror movie comes out around halloween. One that has developed a very strong fan base and has accumulated much wealth. Probably wise on their part to release it now.

If I recall. Thats what everyone said about saw 3. remember how that one turned out. This franchise has done nothing but make more money with each year. I see no reason why it would slow down now. How good the movie is going to be. I don't know. Haven't seen a preview and won't make a decision until I do. But it has the same characters. Most of the same producers, director, writer, etc.... Im not seeing how this one has flop potential. Other than they could've just stuck with three. But hey. They're making seven spidermans so why not make more of a movie thats actually worth watching.

I do not think Saw 4 will bomb by horror movie standards. But a franchise record s out of the question. People are just not that into torture porn anymore...and what film started it? Saw. I dodnt really undestand how anyone was entertained by watching a man cut off his own foot, watching a woman dig through needles, or watching a woman being froze to death

I am looking forward to 30 Days also. I read the comic and I love the concept of it. When is its release date?
Saw IV may underwhelm expectations, but it cannot bomb. It cost very little to make (no stars to speak of) and and there is still too much curiousity surrounding it (for what it's worth, I'm not in that audience- jumped off after the first). Most of the box office horror failures will easily break even/ make money, especially after the DVD run.

Ya'll want to know whats really stupid. Remaking Halloween. Is it really gonna be that much better than the original. I don't think so. It doesn't matter how much money Zombie puts into this movie. It can't out do great acting and great directing. Sure Zombie is Frickin awesome. But when he does his own movies. These remakes are really starting to get under my skin. Ya'll think saw 4 is pushing the envelope. At least its original. I haven't seen any other originals do what those guys have done in the past four years. Other than hostel all the major grossing horror films have all been remakes. And it's all bull crap.

The only redemption in a Zombie Holloween remake is at least if it is going to be remade, he seems like the director who would be up for the task and do a good job. As for moguls, I don't know how much it costs, but unless it is cheaper, I would stay clear of it. Zombie directed films have a cult audience, and I have doubts that Halloween will extend too far from those boundaries.
And in a completely unrelated thought, where people aware that Zombie worked on the set of Pee Wee's Playhouse. I have a hard time visualizing that thought without giggling a little.

Maybe my expectations for 'Halloween' are just low. I could live with $35 million B.O., 8 Top 5, 2-3 PTA, and 7.0+ in iMDb. If the film was going to be the centerpiece of anyone's slate than that was just foolish. I don't think it'll be a weak choice or a less than solid support piece in Ultimate Moguls though!

Halloween performed above my expectations. Though it should've been a prequel instead of a remake. Because most of it in fact, was a prequel.
On a side note. I saw a preview for 30 days of night and Saw IV.
30 days looks effing awesome. I love vampire movies. Creepy guys in jail.(not like that) and Josh Hartnett has yet to disappoint me. I can't wait to see it.
Saw IV. Hmmm..... Well the teaser wasn't as good as the others. It wasn't really awesome in any way. It wasn't bad though. For a fourth film I have to say it interested me and now I want to see a longer trailer. From this trailer I would say the fourth will in no way out do the others. But as a hardcore saw fan I can't wait to see it and it shouldn't disappoint the people who actually like the saw movies.
