7 years ago, zoolander, closely followed by old school, blasted a bunch of gentlemen to superstardom in the world of comedy....a group we'd come to know as the Frat Pack....

now, 7 years later, there's a new generation emerging to join those masters of comedy....a group of youngsters i like to call the new Brat Pack....Judd Apatow, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Michael Cera, Evan Goldberg and friends have just stolen the summer with Knocked Up and now Superbad!!!!

So guys, the first superbad review i read was on MSN....and i think all of you should ditch this movie right now!!!!

(so i can be the only one to make mucho buckso off this winner!!!!

haha, here's the review....

Weren't those guys already pretty famous before Zoolander/Old School?
I mean prior movies were bigger hits, and more of their "discovery" than these..
Ben Stiller - Meet The Parents
Owen Wilson - Armageddon, Breakfast of Champions, Shanghai Noon, Meet The Parents
Luke Wilson - Home Fries, Rushmore, My Dog Skip, Charlie's Angels, Legally Blonde...
Will Ferrell - Austin Powers, Night at the Roxbury, Dick
Vince Vaughn - Psycho, Clay Pigeons, Swingers, The Cell, Made

they'd all been in movies, true, but they weren't household names....

did you know that ben stiller is like the 'acknowledged leader' of this little clique?? they're all just friends of course, but in terms of fame, he wrote, directed, starred in and everything-ed zoolander, bringing owen wilson above ground and will ferrell as mugatu....then old school came along, and that's when the 'Frat Pack' name emerged....

"That Hansel's so hot right now...." and "Katinka Inge Bogovinuhna....na" ??

hysterical stuff....

I know it's getting great reviews, and it'll probably take 1st at the box office this weekend, but I thought it was just okay, nothing spectacular.

Becs makes a pretty good point. While most of those movies weren't near as funny as zoolander and old school, anybody that was an avid movie watcher knew who they all were. I mean Stiller did direct or produce(one of the two or both) The Fricking Cable Guy. Instant Classic. That movie will forever be quoted in high schools across the country. at some point or another.
Back to the original topic. My usher watched Superbad last night and said it was really funny. For some reason I watched Invasion. Personal reasons before anybody calls me retarted. Ill be watching superbad tomorrow with many friends so it will be much funnier than watching it alone.

sure sure....but they were names you read about and forgot like....i dont know....evan rachel wood or seth rogen (before knocked up) or....i want to say ryan gosling, but something tells me i'm about a year or two too late....

on the other hand, maybe it was just me being too young to know that much, let's see....in 2001, i was 13....possible, i guess....

Yup thats pretty young. You mention Seth Rogen to the average teenager and they will look at you retarted. I didn't actually learn his name until about half a year ago. Love his movie but names just don't stick unless they play lead roles in a crap load of movies for most people.

hmmm....i'm hoping for about 70-80 mil from this one....hopefully it outperforms expectations exactly the way knocked up did....80 mil will satisfy me, 90 mil will bring me joy, and 100 mil will bring orgasmic contentment....

Transformers, Crazy is right, Rogan is just not a household name. He's just that guy from Knocked Up. I've had trouble describing him to friends before, and we're not even teens!

Superbad will do very well this weekend, but I don't see it topping 80mil in total. More like 45-60. Which is pretty darn good in itself.

Should get 8 Top 5 points and 3 PTA points too.

Seth Rogan is one of those guys that most people didnt know unless they were diehard fans of Freaks and Geeks.

well, i'm crossing my fingers, toes, legs, arms, and anything else i can....

besides, isn't it predicted for a 25 mil opening, and assuming we multiply by a factor of 3.2, we get to about 80 mil, n'est-ce pas?? if it has any sort of legs at all, it should outdo 80 mil i think....

Holy Crap! My new catholic faith teacher is like a clone of seth rogen! He looks exactly like him and he talks/acts like him too. He's freakin hilarious and he always says 'thats cool' and sweet'. Too bad i only have him first semester. I'll try to set up my digi-camera in my backpack and record him teaching so you can see him.
