Daddy Day Camp wipes out with only about 750k. It was even behind Hotrod that had was a bomb itself with only 5 million. Which means that Daddy Day Camp might have a hard time hitting 3 million. Ouch

Can someone please tell me just what on earth the "Film Advisory Board" is? I've seen their random "Award of Excellence" seal stamped on ads for crap movies like Daddy Day Camp. Just what exactly do they review? And what sort of credibility could they possibly have if they consider DDC as worthy of any type of "excellence"??

The FAB is a board dedicated to finding kid safe movies, thats all the rating means.

What? Parents don't trust the MPAA's opinions?

The sad thing is that it will probably make budget and then some in the aftermarket. Parents do more to destroy the family movie market than any other group because they seem so willing to tolerate mediocre fare that they would never watch themselves.

It made ninth place. suprised the hell out of me. I was hoping it wouldn't make it in the top twenty. Transformers should be in discount theaters right about now. Maybe it'll knock it down a couple more pegs.

I love second run movie theaters, relatively empty theaters for less than half the price. Cant be beat!

Tuan, discount theatres or cheap seats are theatres that run current but not usually immediately released movies for a reduced rate. They usually get the movie after the higher priced theatres start droppping the screens of a new release and the box office popularity has cooled or most of the film audience has seen it. The theatres tend to be a lower quality (older buildings, not as good sound or screens). They tend to run the movie until it no longer can make money theatrically (for example 300 is in the cheap seats near where I live while being on DVD for over two weeks).

With my present budget they are an absolute blessing to have around so you can get the opportunity to see the movie in the size the director intended for a more affordable price.

That is how I finally got to see Pirates last night. My wife loved it. I enjoyed it, more than the second, less than the first.
