I'll be seeing Journey To The Center Of The Earth in 3-D later this week in Kansas City. Springfield is so behind with the 3-D boom that it's just sad.

Imagine the disappointed Hannah Montana fans after they had the wait for the DVD to see her concert movie (yes, it never played here).

Ah, who really cares. Just don't include my films at the end of your summer. I need somewhere to comment on the films I see, and I don't get to see most of the blockbusters most of you see till after the end of your summer season anyway. So if I went along with the 'rules' I'd have nothing to add to this thread, and that just isn't fair!!

yeah surfer its cool man keep posting them here i just wont count them in my final tally. no need to worry. also J.I yes if your the only on to see it then that will be the final grade which i believe it would put it up very high. Lets just i have done some tentaive calculations and there is some big surprises in the order of the rankings so far.

Yes, six, [REC] had its flaws, hence it only receiving 7/10. However, while we can sit in the safety of a theatre and stand in disbelief at some of the characters actions, I'm sure some of the most stupid and illogical decisions you make are when you are scared out of your wits. There is no time to sit and think things through. And remember, this is a film about a supposed paranormal/ disease which is turning each character into zombies one by one. I hardly think the filmmakers were going for believable!! [/b]

Of course they were going for believable... otherwise they wouldn't have shot it through a TV crew being part of it. Yes the plot is supernatural, but the characters reaction are supposed to be realistic. Sure, people under panic do stupid things... but it's more like the run the wrong way... I don't believe they'll directly turn their back to a zombie.

That's what bugs me with films like Cloverfield and Diary of the Dead. If you're going to be realistic then don't have contrived scenes or dialogue.

Still, if we're comparing I'd give REC 6/10, so we're broadly in agreement. Mostly for the way the last scene in the penthouse was shot. Now that was scary. It's a shame it's getting a US remake (Quarantine), it'll probably be inferior.

You see, I think there is a difference between believable and realism. While the look of the film tried to maintain a sense of realism, in that it was shot with the hand held camera, it was never mean't to be believable. I don't think we were ever really mean't to believe that that this was happening. It was just a 'what if' scenario. Anyway, I do agree, however, that they did do some stupid things, and some ideas were a used just for the quick shock, but in the whole it was decent enough, certainly one of the better horrors of the last year. And the last scene was pretty terrifying.

And Quarantine will definitely be inferior, they almost always are. Its just annoying that I've heard [REC] will not be realeased on DVD until Quarantine has. That gives me the impression that it will never even be known as the predecessor to a watered down US remake.

Oh, and Son Of Rambow - 7/10

hellboy 2 - 6/10 - stunning visuals were not enough to make up for it being just downright silly.

Dragged kicking and screaming to extreme Estrogen-fest 'Mamma Mia': enough funny moments to keep me from gouging out my eyes -- 7/10 if only for the end credits which are priceless. A chick flick in the extreme, but you already could have guessed that.

On a side note, the Cougar sitting next to me repeatedly made pawing sexual advances and hit on me aggressively. Rarely has my thigh been massaged so thoroughly. I stared helplessly, silently begging my gf to save me but damned ABBA/Streep/Brosnan had sucked her totally in.

I feel dirty.

I'm a little disturbed by what happened to you in the screening Roodey. Maybe that's the result of going to see a movie full of sexually deprived middle aged women. That'll teach you not to find a girlfriend for your girlfriend!!

Question

If you see a movie twice in theaters can you count it as two separate ratings for that same movie?

Because I saw TDK again and I'd like to give it a 10/10 again.

I give Dark Knight a 9.5 out of 10. The movie was not perfect but certainly is the best comic movie so far.
