Yep that's right. It's always better going for NZ against Australia, it's the underdog thing, you know? Except in rugby, but in Melbourne it doesn't really matter cuz no one really cares. I did get a lot of schtick around 2003 RWC time though. Friggin' Wallabies... Oh and 1999 & 2007, Friggin' French. Bet it'll probably be the Wallabies again making us choke in 2011, so it'll be cyclical...

Not everyone. I played a game of 20/20 two weeks ago. Runout for 4 runs and took 1 wicket (caught at 1st slip) for about 7 runs off 2 overs.

Not bad work leestu. Run out, so not really your fault. Good bowling numbers though, especially for 20/20. I used to play a little cricket, bit of left arm off-spin & right arm medium pace (don't ask me how that works), but I was hopeless with the bat, so yeah, didn't go far...

Sorry for the digression everyone. Back to the super leagues. I will be getting my first last place ever and, of all leagues to do it in, it is in a super league. Ouch!

Ouch indeed leestu! Out in the 1st round's gotta hurt. I wouldn't know anything about that feeling, cuz I'm planning to be around for a long time yet...

I think all the praise is going to your head you cocky little... just kidding, you deserve it. I am sure you will be around until the end... I'd even go so far as to call you the early betting favorite

I am really enjoying watching the Rugby this year. Western Force beating The Blues last week and then I have just finished watching them beat The Highlanders. 2 NZ teams in 2 weeks. I am a happy Force supporter. 2011 is a while away but hopefully Johnny Wilkinson won't be around by then so it can be Wallabies vs All Blacks in the final.

Again apologies to the fantaversians for my digression into my 2nd love after movies - sports.

It's the Box Office full year, hopefully I will scrape through the half year, But Ultimate I plan to be around to the end.

Yeah, I'm a bit like, wow how good is this? Pretty easy game, yeah? I wouldn't put it past myself to choke somewhere down the line though. Can someone tell me though, is it possible to accumulate immunities? I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but it'd be pretty sweet...

So I suppose you're from WA following the Force leestu? I don't have Foxtel, and as you probably know, most Victorians could not give a rat's ass about anything to do with rugby unfortunately. We're FAR FAR more one-minded with sports than you guys from WA or SA I can tell you that. It's AFL heartland around here obviously. You bring up the word 'rugby' here and you'll get laughed at, trust me! I'm actually glad WA got the Super 14 team, not because I wouldn't like one here, just that NO ONE would support a team here...

Btw even though I never lived in Christchurch when I lived in NZ (I lived in Auckland & Wellington), I'm a Crusaders fan. Back around 10 years ago, when we had Andrew Mehretens was the reason I started following them. Gives you hope watching him, you know, that any scrawny, small kid could play rugby. I never did though.

This year we're by far the team to beat, if I do say so myself. Looking pretty good, pretty pretty PRETTAAAYY good...

Wow, spent a long time talking about rugby here. Sorry about that...

Anny: You can only get one immunity per league. Shryke didn't want people to accumulate immunities, but wanted some reward for finishing well. So If you are good enough to finish in the green in more than one season, sorry, you only get the one immunity. You can only save yourself once! But if you do finish in the green again, you do prevent someone else from getting an immunity, as it does not go to the next closest person.

You lost me at Jandels.

Don't worry anny, it took me months to try and understant the NZ lingo, and even now I miss a few things. Add to that I would certainly not expect you to understand my ramblings about the topic.

Well I actually still think Holly Valance and Delta Goodrem are hot (as is Ms. Imbruglia). Delta is one of the most gorgeous girls around IMO. They do breed a good bunch down there, but I digress.

A girl has got to be very hot for me to let talent and annoyingness get past me, and these girls just arent hot enough for me. I have high standards, and those two just don't meet them. However, digressing also here, it is nice that its so much warmer down here than in the UK, I get to see girls around here in very short shorts all the time, satisfies the pervert in me..... .

I've gotta admit though, ashamed as I am, I've sat through whole episodes of the show before. I have NEVER, I repeat NEVER, sat through a whole episode of Home And Away, or Shortland Street back when I was in NZ. My knowing the existence of one crappy localsoap is enough for me.

Neighbours was kinda cult back in the UK, mainly for its poor acting talent and pretty girls, but I doubt it was every really taken seriously. Snap though, I've never watched an episode of Home and Away, it just looks awful, with no guilty pleasure redeeming features to save it. Shortland Street, well that's just hilarious. They make adverts and blast them on the tv whenever they can about this serial killer who's loose in the hospital. This storyline has been going on for about 6 months. The girls in work love it, Im just in total bewilderment as to why, but it seems like some sort of obsession. As you can probably guess, they don't make many soaps in NZ...

And besides SS, I actually refer to myself as a Kiwi a lot of the time anyway, like right now I'm fervently following the NZ v England Test Match online (I'm going for the Kiwis obviously), you won't see me following Australia though.

Don't really follow cricket, or any other sport for that matter apart from swimming (I was brought up a swimmer from the age of 2 and have been quite a competative one in my time, plus - girls in swimming costumes all the time - who wouldn't love it , just not my thing. Guys in work really love their sports though; cricket, rugby, netball pretty much anything that involves moving muscles.

As you can guess I wasn't too popular when England got to the final of the recent RWC and NZ were knocked out very early. I was let off though when they beat the Aussies though!!

Yeah I'm from WA. The Force have actually built up quite a large following over here in a short amount of time, (I was catching the train home from the Force vs Crusaders game a few weeks ago and it was jam packed) and you guys have got a NRL team (who seem to be successful without many supporters) so it seems the right decision that we get the super 14 team. Which suits me better anyway cause NRL is one of the few sports I don't get into (NRL and synchronised swimming). I agree that Crusaders are having a good year and I reckon it will be Force vs Crusaders in the final this year. It's still a way off but that's my early prediction.

What did you just call me?!?! I have no idea what you just said. I can't stand baseball so I imagine that cricket would rank around the same for me.

I am more of an MMA fan. I suppose if I told you that I escaped from a Kimura while in the half guard, rolled and attained back control with hooks and secured a rear naked you would be as confused. LOL

especially with the rear naked comment... its a choke not a sexual position.

And yeah Super Leagues... How is that going for everyone? Sure wish I was in it. Come on July!

That's the difference between the US and the rest of the world. Leestu comments made perfect sense to me, and I've never played a game of cricket in my life. He was playing a game of 20/20, which is a game where each team has 20 overs to get as high a score a possible. An over is one round of throws at the batter. During his batting he made 4 runs, but got runout - which means like baseball means that while he was running between his posts, someone threw the ball to the post he was going to before he got there. Following so far Donte? He took 1 wicket, which means when he was throwing the ball at a batter, he got them out, and the batter was caught by a guy standing a little behind and to the left/right of him. Finally hee only gave away 7 runs during his throwing of 2 overs. There endeth my translation of cricket Correct me if was wrong with any of that Leestu.

Whereas Donte, I've just gotta make sure never to be in your vacinity when you are practicing MMA (or Man on Man's Ass as I think it must be termed.... , that could end badly.

Haha well Becs it is only dirty if I am drunk. LOL Oh man another bad Donte image.

A Kimura is a terribly painful hold. It is an arm lock. Pull your elbow up to shoulder height with your forearm hangin parralel to your torso. A kimura is when they have your arm in that position and then move it behind you at that angle. With your elbow out, rotate your right hand and forearm counter clockwise behind you. Stop after about 3-5 inches before you hurt yourself.

For the rear naked choke you are on their back with your legs around their abdomen/waist. Hooks means you have your feet locked inside their knees. This keeps them from throwing you off and gives you stability. Rear naked (choke) is one arm around the neck and the other pushing the back of their head, cutting off their blood and oxygen. Works in about 5-8 seconds if applied correctly.

Come back next week for my next MMA tutorial. I started training in martial arts when I was about 6. Continued until I was about 22. I would be in MMA if not for two or three good reasons.

1) I am a pussy. I do not like getting punched or kicked. This is a bad thing for a martial artist.
2) I weigh about 130 lbs. This is also bad as the lightest current weight class is 155.
3) I am very lazy. Working out and training in martial arts was fun while younger and energetic but then I discovered alcohol and women and old age. LOL

I dropped DBT from all but my BO slates. Wasn't even on purpose just sorta moved my picks around and got lucky when it didn't make the cut. I originally had it on 4-5 slates. Sheeew...

So when will we be able to start playing the April-June Super Leagues? I guess not yet since the Jan-March league standings will have some more changes.
