wel no lilly, my name is not derived from that great DP.

my name is emmanuel and the lubezki part is derived from alejandro lubezki, my favorite writer/director working today.

It must be a great coincidence then that he has a brother named Emmanuel too. I'll have to check out Alejandro's films.

I don't watch TV (apart from live sports - I might disappear for 2 week's in August during the Olympics) but I do watch TV shows on DVD. I can't stand ads, and once I miss an episode of a show that I like, I stop watching it. DVDs solve both of these problems. Like every rule there is an exception: I always try to catch Spicks and Specks. An Australian quiz show that combines music trivia and comedy. They are performing a live stage theatrical version of it in a couple of months and I have tickets!
Maybe I am showing my age but noone has mentioned the best show ever made The Young Ones. I have watched every ep so many times noone wants to watch with me anymore because I piss them off by reciting every line.
TV shows that I watch on DVD are:
Oz (the best prison show ever - just slightly ahead of the first 2 seasons of Prisoner - not the one previously mentioned but the Aussie 70's soap/drama)
Angel
Buffy
Quantum Leap (my guilty pleasure)
The Simpsons
Family Guy
Futurama
Scrubs
Six Feet Under
Sopranos
The Chaser's War On Everything (Is there an Australian with taste that doesn't watch this!)
All the Star Treks
Rescue Me (It may be misogynistic but I like what I like)
The Office
The Extras (speaking of which - did anyone else find Taping Nigel from the DVD hard to watch, especially the 2nd season?)
All the Law and Orders

Well that's enough from me - I think I have taken up more than my fair share.

Leestu,

Quantum Leap shouldn't be a guilty pleasure. It was an entertaining little show that had one of the most heartbeaking last episodes ever.

Poor Sam Beckett. How did he have time to write all those plays while helping the lives of people throughout history?

Here is an addendum of more shows I like:

-30 Rock - how can I forget this funny show? Alec Baldwin just kills it on the show. When he imitated Tracy's mom on the show, it is one of the funniest moments on TV in the past year.

-Mythbusters- great show, fun to learn new things

-Dirty Jobs- Dirty. Filthy. Stinking. Jobs.

- It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia- Once described as "Seinfeld on crack". Which for me, makes it awesome.

-I watch Entourage and Nip/Tuck occasionally.
