I didn't know Smith thought of the Apes remake first, but really, who cares. Who cares that Burton stole Smith's Apes idea. Burton's Planet of the Apes was terrible. I love Burton, but that was a terrible film. I laughed so hard at the ending. And even if Smith had done it, it would have been terrible. It was a terrible idea to remake that movie, whoever directed it.

No, that ending is what made Burton's film other than just a totally pointless remake. It's a cool ending.

Yeah. I really don't see Kevin Smith cussing anybody out. Just doesn't seem like the kind of guy. Jason Mewes. That I could see.

The idea of remaking the movie was pointless, but the ending was the worst part. I scoffed at that ending, it was so stupid, and then I walked out of that theater pissed off for spending money on it. The only okay thing in that movie was Tim Roth as the bad guy ape.
