shryke and the rest of FM universe, my wife hopes I dangle, or otherwise that would complicate my personal life.

No, I am of the majority audience. I just have been called that my whole life, and can't get myself to go by anything else.

I woulda made the presumption (geez, this is dangerous) that becs or lilylovelost are of the female variety...

becs perhaps being short for Rebecca/Bec

lilylovelost being, well lily...

We can't have such a testosterone imbalance here, it's unhealthy. Besides, who else will back me up when I say 300 is over-rated plot-less rubbish...

You sir, are correct!

I am in fact female, pink bedroom and all (no I am not a teenage girl either).

However I must disagree on your latter point. 300 was neither a masterpiece nor over-rated. It was quite an epic story and well presented/beautifully told, it was far from the waste of time oyu make it out to be.

How can we trust your opinion? How do we know you were actually watching and paying attention to the movie and not the 100+ rock-hard 6packs?

Yes, hundreds of rock hard abs are wonderful.

300, however, is not a masterpiece. It has good use of green screen. The movie probably wouldn't have done well if it wasn't for the way it was filmed. It is hard for me to feel for the king. I don't see anything that makes me feel for him. I feel for his queen more than anyone.

Whoop-de-do! I got something right!

As for 300 being 'rubbish' or a 'waste of time', I was exaggerating a bit to prove me point. I actually enjoyed it a bit, it's just when people (fanboys especially) talk 300 up, it just irritates me. I don't see, with all it's flaws, how it could be considered a masterpiece. I mean, plot is important, is it not?

Anywhoo, no big deal, no need to go on about it. Overall 300 just wasn't memorable for me...

Tell that to transformers2. He's mentioned the word/number 'masterpiece' and '300' more times than I poo everyday.

As lillylovelost said, yeah, the Queen was the only real human character in that film. I actually was rooting for her to get more support from those politicians. Anyone notice how buff that toga-wearing politician was? Gee.

As for the others, I couldn't care less if they died. That's why I thought it failed when they made it overly emotional when the Spartans die.

I thought, damn, I wish there were more Spartan heads being lopped around like chopped pineapples. And Xerxes, oh man, that guy's hilarious. By far one of the best creations in a long while. He was a moving jewellery store.

I thought Faramir's dialogue was hilariously bad.

I actually hate 300 even more now after seeing the trailer for the Epic Movie writers and directors' new and upcoming film 'Meet the Spartans'.

You have to check out the trailer to believe it.

I dangle, and I absolutely love 300. It is one of, if not the most, bad-ass film of all time. The action sequences are 100% top notch. It may have flaws sure. But the movie is incredibly entertaining. Leonidas is a true hero. You definitely feel for the Queen, as previously mentioned. If you expected an emotional struggle and stuff like that, then you came to the wrong place. For what 300 was trying to be, a kickass battle movie about the glory and death of 300 spartan warriors fighting til their last breath to try and overcome insurmountable odds, it did an amazing job. I can watch this movie over and over again and it is still as awesome as the first viewing. It's not the best movie i have ever seen, but it is definitely one of my favorites.

I laughed my ace off at the meet the spartans trailer. The britney spears bit was great.

all you non danglers are really starting to sound like my manager. Previewing that movie with her was horrible. All she talked about for a frickin month was how great the 300 guys looked with their "abs". Very annoying. I didn't hear any guys running around saying how great lena heady looked doggy style.

lol. How many times do you see 300 6 packs on a gigantic screen? That's not just amazing for women, but in general.

How awesome would it be for you to have 300 sets of boobs on screen?

(of course this is all tongue in cheek humor. I would tired very quickly of seeing 300 abs of steel.)

Man all these references to House and Entourage...my two favorite shows! My bits "dangle" according to House, and, I guess to fall into the stereotype, I did rather enjoy 300. I dunno if I would go as far as to call it a masterpiece but...I am a Frank Miller fan

Funny thing is, I'm a bit of a Frank Miller fan as well. I LOVED Sin City, am eagerly anticipating Sin City 2, and would go close to calling Sin City a masterpiece (not really, but you get the point). So after that, you can say I was a little disappointed with 300, as IMO it didn't live up to Sin City as a legitimate film to be taken seriously by anyone that isn't a fanboy.

I suppose transformers2 also mentions that 'Transformers' is a masterpiece many, many times as well. Ironically, even though 300 and Transformers offered the same sort of thing, I am more impartial to the mind-numbing action of Transformers. It is Michael Bay after all, what else should I have expected? Masterpiece it is not, though...

Ditto. I do believe that would be known as a porno though.

Alternatively they could get 300 topless women all be going against each other in a hot and heavy (but also randomly violent) mud-wrestling contest, or something like that. It'd be almost as entertaining as 300. Same sort of premise, don't you reckon?
