cRAzY, nothing personal, but please don't start down that "this is a real sport" line or the steriod thing. Yes, I am a baseball fan, Minnesota Twins style.
As for the 'real' sport snip, there are far more legitimate sprts that better fit that line. Out of respect for those 'questionable' sports, I stop there.
And the steriod thing. I am not justifying one single drip of noise about steriods. I didn't see many people stopping and asking themselves why there where so many extra homers in the late '90s until after the party was over. It sure didn't seem to stop them from establishing record attendance numbers.
I think the thing that makes a baseball fan a baseball fan is the statistics. Baseball is the only sport that would even consider keeping a statistic like 'Home runs per at bat at home on tuesdays in May ina night game'. Laugh at this all you like, but if your first thought after hearing that is 'Gee, I wonder what it is?', you are die hard fan.
I think another thing I love about baseball is despite all its visual inequalities (mostly payroll, especially to non and casual fans), it is actually more balenced than most sports. Just look at who's left. You the mega budget BoSox, two mid level budgets in the Indians and the Rockies, and the no budget wonders the Diamondbacks. In what other sport do you see that much competitive balence(I am from the US- obviously- so if there are other sport more evenly balenced I am not aware of them).
I fear for my Twins next year. We are not going to sign anyone big (again), probably going to lose Torii Hunter (mixed on that one- great player, no replacement in the wings, a team leader and face of the team, but probably going to be overpriced for what he is really worth) and I heard Nick Punto was told third base is his to lose. The guy can barely bat his weight (and he is a wiry one) and homer from him is somewhere between slim and none.
We will probably trade Johan Santana (cringe) for a couple of starter and a couple of prospects mid season next year because I don't see the Twins resigning him, especially if Torii goes.
As for this season- what the hell- go Cleaveland. They took out the Yankees in three, they are from the central division, and they built their team the right way- from the inside up.
(don't get me started on comics- it goes downhill from there.)

Yeah man. I didn't actually say anything about the steroid uses. Baseballers aren't the only ones taking em. Wrestlers(Ha), and I'm sure football and plenty of other steroiders in other sports. Either way. I was just saying I'm not a big fan of Mlb. or any other professional sports for that matter. Just don't like them. So don't take it as Im talking crap about baseball. Just my opinions.

Dudes. Cal drops one to Oregon State, and LSU falls to Kentucky. There goes my Week 2 national championship game... And I was starting to believe I really AM a Sage! (And the crowd breathed, "Riiiiiiiiiiiight...")
If this keeps up, the title game might just feature Boston College vs. Arizona State... Come on, Eagles!
I remain, as always...
Nico.
ETA: Holy Hell. The Indians just had a 7-run 11th. This ALCS series is gonna be wild...

So does this make it...
1. Ohio State
2. Boston College
3. USF (especially after that drubbing they gave UCF today)
Who would've thought USF could be sniffing the national championship?

I hate to break it to you, but BC really doesn't have much of a shot. Their schedule is so weak. It will be very tough for them to make it, and if they do they will probably be crushed. But what the hell, I hope they make a good run and play USF in the finals just to say screw you BCS. God I hate that stupid system.
P.S. Why in hell did Francona think it would be a good idea to pitch Gagne in a tie game in the 11th inning? Hasn't he done enough already to prove that he is terrible?

Well, We all know that Ohio State isn't going to make it as #1. I still believe that Cal and LSU will climb back up and make the national championship game.

Cal really isn't impressive in my opinion, they will probably lose again this year, LSU I agree will be there, and we have yet to see how good Ohio State can be so give them a chance before writing them off, they have crushed their weak schedule, if they beat penn st, michigan, michigan st, and wisconsin, how can you leave them out, so don't write them off before they play anyone and have a shot at proving themselves.

Yeah, that was a treat, Shrykester, thanks. I'm beginning to move toward that point of view, myself... I especially sympathize with what Wetzel had to say about the SEC, even though, the only team in that conference I feel anything at all for, is Alabama (Roll Tide!). Okay, maybe I like the Vols a tiny little bit. And Ole Miss. The rest of 'em can go hang, tho.

Criminy. 14-0, Pats, and the NFL's #1-ranked offense has yet to prove it. Dallas' pass defense is nonexistent, the 'Boys are letting Brady pass all day, and for miles. Step it up, Dallas!

Thanks for the good words, Optimus, but the Pats were just too much. Still, you gotta love Romo's pluck. However, at this point I think you've gotta rate the top three teams in the league:
[1] New England;
[2] Dallas;
[3] Green Bay.

Are you huffing glue? A list of the top 3 NFL teams that doesnt include the Colts!?!?!? And I hate the Colts (I am a Titans fan), but to leave them off a list ove the top TWO[u] teams in the NFL would would be absurd, nevermind three.
