Just in case you guys didn't know, the new Halloween movie isn't a sequel, it's a prequel/reboot.

you're the 5th one that says this thing. Halloween is a remake and not a sequel.

Let's clear this up.

So the new Halloween is not a sequel, nut not a reboot, but not a prequel?

So what is it? Is it existing in some other time-space continuum?

Is it really that surprising, hebchill?

1. Familiarity: Harry Potter's last installment was only eighteen months ago; for Die Hard, it's been TWELVE YEARS.

2. Target demographic: Many kids this decade have grown up reading Harry Potter; those same kids may have heard of the Die Hard movies, maybe even seen them... but consider, anyone under 25 would probably have been too young to see the last Die Hard movie in theaters. Plus, which movie do you think parents would rather their kids go see?

3. Trailer: The Harry Potter trailer was AWESOME. IMHO, the strongest trailer of all the summer blockbusters. On the other hand, the Die Hard trailer was one of the weakest; sure, it highlighted some of the really cool action sequences/stunts, but it also practically told the entire story in two minutes (though I hope that's not the case).

Bottom line: Harry Potter got three times as many votes as Die Hard (or any other movie, for that matter). Whether you're a McClane-lover or a Potter-hater, there's no arguing with those numbers.

I have acutally liked all the movies so far......i just am looking foward to Die Hard 4....even if it is gonna be the same thing all over again

Tuan, do you really buy into that odd vs. even numbered film stuff? I mean even if all of the odd numbered fillms were bad and all of the even numbered films were good up until now, there is no reason to believe that this trend will continue into the future. Ultimately, it's the problem of induction.

Let's not forget about the middle aged nerds that still cream over harry potter. I've had plenty of those freaks up at our theater. Sad Really. Pushin forty and more excited about harry effin potter than their own kids. Litterally.
