I think after the rather open ending to Saw 3 a fourth film was inevitable. I just think they should have stuck with the original writer and director.

I doubt that I'll make any effort to see 'Saw 4,' but it will be the biggest horror film of the year (unless we're counting 'I am Legend').

Hate to go agin ya, Roode, but 1408 is already up to $65 million, and will probably top out around $70. Saw IV will have a hard time catching that, and that's assuming that 1408 doesn't get beaten by Halloween.
As for I Am Legend, we'll have to wait and see. I don't know if it will be classifiable as "pure horror", but even if it is, it'll make the bulk of its green in 2008. Yeah, I know, pick pick pick.

Disturbia will stay on top with about 80m and 1408will stay in second with about 70m. Halloween has no chance of catching them...it better pray for 30m. Saw 4 is going to bomb jst like Hostel 2. Not quite as hard but it will be no where near the originals probably with 40m tops. 30 Days of Night will steal saw's thunder

Hostel two bombed because they spent too much time killing people and not enough time on the storyline.
Saw hasn't disappointed people yet and I think that is apparent by the ever growing budget and how much fricking money its made. Halloween will bomb because Rob Zombie took a frickin classic and tried to remake it into what he thought was really cool. Newsflash. Stick to making your own shit because people like original crap more than remade crap. They like new fresh ideas in the movie world. Especially the horror section of it. That being in mind. I think Darren has already showed his creativeness by breaking from saw long enough to do dead silence. Which also happened to rock in true bousman style. I personally love the saw series and don't see what the hell is wrong with them. I can't say I agree with making a fourth but they obviously know what they're doing and seemed to have made one hell of a storyline for it already so I wouldn't count my chickens out yet for this one bombing. Lets also not forget its keeping the original characters including ole donnie. Which is suprising. And somebody must think its gonna make some money because once again its being released around halloween while the movie Named Halloween is being released in august. Right when everyone starts going back to school and football season starts heating up.
Keep blasting it all you want but numbers don't lie. And its pretty much already a cult classic. I don't think saw fans will be disappointed. Show me a trailer and I'll give you my opinion. anybody seen skinwalkers yet. Im pretty sure the trailers already been bootlegged.
Another thing. Jason takes manhattan happened to be a pretty good movie. Friday the 13th didn't go downhill til new line took over. They should've stuck with freddy.

Darren didn't direct Dead Silence. Australia's own James Wan did.

i saw the trailer for halloween and i didnt look very good. it looked very gory and that isnt what audiences want. Look at the numbers, they want thrills and mind games as shown by disturbia and 1408. torture porn is dead.

You know you're in trouble when your target audience doesn't know the numeric value of the roman numeral in your title: "Saw VI".
C'mon Lionsgate, title it "Sawwed" or "Seen".

I know Bousman didn't direct dead silence. If I'm not mistaken he helped write it or produced it. I don't remeber. Either way James wan is also great. It's just to bad he's leaving the saw series.
Also. I never said zombie was a bad director. I love zombie and all his work. Movies and music alike.
I said he should stick to original things like house of a 1000 and devils rejects. People loved those. Halloween is not his. It's just an already made idea that he's improvising on to make money. As I said before. Zombie is great but he should stick to creating his own masterpieces.
One more thing. Has nobody found a trailer for saw IV yet. The third one was bootlegged opening night of descent. Within minutes I heard. Somebody has to have this trailer.
