I can't understand how they managed to extract a plot out of the Hitman games. Anyway, what do people think would actually be good movies, using the storyline of a game. Here's my thoughts (PLUG WARNING)

Clive Barker's Undying. Scared the shit out of me in 2001, would pay 50 bucks per ticket to see it in the hands of a master producer and a cool director. Please mister Spielberg, produce it and have Mr. Nolan scare the crap out of us

Any or all of the Myst stories would make great movies. Those stories are told so well, infinitely complex and intricate in detail, with cool charcters and menacing villains. That would be awesome.

Except it's never really been a game for the XBox generation...

Mario Party

Definately God of Effing War. Although the game is already pretty much like a movie. Especially the second. Even leaves it open for a third. Still would make one hell of a movie though. Not sure who would make a good kratos though. The guy who does the voice is pretty scrawny

I think Hitman is going to be good. Anyways Grand Theft Auto and Gears of War would be fantastic movies.

I think a 'LORD of War' is good enough

Starcraft.

It's already got a storyline, if you've played the campaigns. All the primary characters have lots to work with (Raynor, Kerrigan, Tassadar, Zeratul, Mensk). And the full on battles would be worth the price of admission alone.

Don't know about that. Sure the game's got awesome visuals, but when I first played it... I just clicked on stuff... and one point I couldn't go anywhere else... so I gave up.

The game had a storyline? Ey, maybe this could be an experience like 2001.

I think Half-Life would make a good movie. As for God of War, from what I've heard from people who've played the game, it's got quite a good story and would rip 300 in 2 pieces if it were made into a movie.

I hope they will make a good movie from Hitman. Sometimes in the game i really don't care that much about the story or the story is crap, so it is hard to make a good movie inspired by a video game. "The longest journey" could be a good story for a movie , or they should make a good story for the movie Diablo

Yes dranscht Crank was similar to Grand Theft Auto and I loved Crank but i want the real Grand Theft Auto on screen.

Best idea on this forum. Have Spielberg produce it and Bay direct it and it would be a fricking action bonanza. Imagine a fleet of carriers storming over a zerg base, in the hands of Michael Bay. And in the distance, in a slow camera scene, a terran tank doing what it does best: blasting hydralisks

Let's write the script, and maybe it will happen

I always think games with strong stroylines should be used for movies. Which is why I can't really envisage GTA or hitman as movies. They're fun to play, but not to watch. Most scripts just take the idea of a main character and consruct their own story, which doesn't work for me either (look at Sreetfighter).

That said, if Metal Gear Solid is any way like the story, I'll be bored to tears. I spent so many hours clicking through reams of dialogue until could finally shoot somebody.

I've definitely gotta say that Diablo would be a great movie, and it already has a sequel or two prewritten (not tacked on later which always sucks).
