Well, I'm sure if I were 10-15 years younger, I'd be echoing those sentiments. But for me, the pure adrenaline rush, synapse overload that is a staple for Michael Bay movies is just not enough for me to give a film a 10 anymore.
Every Bay film I've seen in the theater, you reach that point when you feel like your brain is going to leak out of your ears (in the best possible way), when you lean back and say "this is SUCH a Bay movie". To his credit, it happened later on in Transformers than it ever had in any of his previous outings. But it still happened.
Don't get me wrong, it was a very good movie, even for a guy who was totally NOT into the cartoon/action-figures growing up. I just didn't think it was all that.
Now, the original "Die Hard"? THAT was my
Transformers.

I'm kinda with Shryke on this one geez. I loved Transformers, it was everything I hoped it would be and more. BUT it is certainly not one of my favourite movies ever. It would not get a 10. A solid 8 maybe, but no 10.
And I can't even use Shryke's excuse of age to let me off the hook, I grew up during Transformers (though I found Thundercats much more riveting) and owned all the toys, but I just felt it could not compete with my top 100 list.
And Shryke, Die Hard was such an adrenaline rush. I remember being about 8 and being totally obsessed with that movie. I would tie up my sheets (much to my mother's anger) and swing from the bannister of our staircase in a re-enactment of the scene!

Transformers number 4 on your list lol
I thought your Top 10 was looking good, I'm reassured to find such an oddity in there geezer
Concerning Boondock Saints, I'm like Six, barely heard about it. It was never released in France, that's for sure. It probably didn't cross the Atlantic.

Were the Transformers ever really big over in France Chien? were they a big part of your childhood? I have to say that because they were in mine, and because I actually think that in this type of movie the special effects are directly correlated to how good the movie is. That's two reasons why I loved it so much.

Yes Geezer, "Transfomers" was definitely part of my childhood. I was very much into the toys, had a lot of them, and watched the cartoon once in a while.
But I was much more interested in Japanese animes, Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball... Those were my 1980's.
But I enjoyed the film, ofr a Michael Bay movie I thought it was a blast until the final part.

If I knew about regional encoding with DVD's in foreign countries I would ship Chien and #Six the movie Boondock Saints. As it is I do not know if my copy will work in European players.
I am quite amazed that a movie with such a cult status in the US has not gotten word to other continents. The movie has all the parts that make a classic; great dialogue, hilarious comic moments, quotability, balls out action, talented actors, and a great storyline.

But don't worry Donte, I'll find a way to get my hands on a copy. You got me curious guys...

I am so glad my parents let me watch this when I was young. It came out when I was 11, obviously too young for something so bloody and graphic, but they let me watch it after it came out on video. This movie is one of the reasons i became a huge fan of history, as well as film. I have since done two very large presentations on the invasion of Normandy, but that's beside the point. The movie is a masterpiece. The greatest war film ever made. Each and every performance is flawless, and completely necessary. Everyone plays their part perfectly. The battle sequences are shot so equisitely that it feels like you are there. The message is amazing. Spielberg is a God amongst men when it comes to filmmaking. Hanks is perfect for the role. Everyone is perfect for their respective roles. Every shot of every scene is exactly what a war movie should be. Every time I stayed home sick from school I would watch this movie. The Academy Awards make me sick that it was not given Best Picture. A true masterpiece of cinema. A true work of art. My top 3 are in a class all their own as far as my love for them goes. Saving Private ryan will never be topped as far as war films are concerned. I eagerly await anything that can come close.

Well, didn't see this one coming. But can't complain, its an extremely well made film and the opening sequence is outstanding. Will go down as one of the greats, and everything you said is spot on. I personally prefer Full Metal Jacket as a war movie, but they are both completely different styles, and like picking a favourite child. Very good choice.
Only question now is the order of your top two. AS I remember, although I may have gotten people mixed up, its gonna be V For Vendetta and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Im gonna say Judgement Day gets the top spot.

Actually, V For Vendetta was the favorite of the aptly-named player manincellv.
I don't know what your #1 is, geeze, but I figure your top two films are the two Terminator movies, for the simple fact that I cannot believe that one would make your all-time favorite list while the other failed to even make your Top 100!

You know what, I must be a little dim. I had never recognised the meaning of manincellv's username! I always thought that his name was Mani......
I am not very good with these usernames. It took me ages just to get anny's!
Even so, I don't recall that it was manincellv who mentioned V as thier favourite movie. I should really have paid more attention.
