I'm finding it really hard to get motivated enough to see any of them. Maybe I'll go see POTC3 next weekend.

#%$& the big 3 !
I've only seen Spidey so far, and it was a big disappointment I already forgot. I hated Shrek2 and POTC 1 & 2, so I don't plan on seeing Shrek 3 or POTC 3.
Bring me some fresh films Hollywood, I'm sick of number 3s, number 4s and all that recycled ideas !!!!

What!? Coming up with new ideas is too much work, my friend, too much work!! Bring on POTC 4,5 &6 Bruckheimer! Your public demands it!
Totally know where you're coming from. Problem is most of the time the films are at least entertaining (if not good), and until the movie-going public decides not to spend the money, the various series will continue to be made. It's pretty hard for a studio to say, "oh darn we only grossed $600 million world wide on Rush Hour 7. Guess the series has run it's course."
You may find it a little easier to take if you just tuck your soul away into some quiet little corner and try not to think about movies too much, *lol*

You know, I've tried this thing, not thinking about movies too much, and it worked for about one day. In the end it was impossible, I've started thinking about the excitement, the adventure, the emotion et al, and I was addicted again. I am condemned to be hooked on films every single day of my life...
And you know what, i'm not against the idea of sequels or remakes, because some have proved to be able to enrich a concept or a base, or even just have been able to bring some more fun, look at the Indy Joneses, look at the Austin Powers. There are good sequels. Just not this summer apparently...

Im starting to think hollywood can't think of anything new. All the major movies coming out in the next 3 to 4 years are either sequels(lame), comic book movies(super lame), and of course remakes(lamer than a preacher at a boy scout convention). Can you believe they are remaking all the great slasher films. Zombie. Luv ya man but your treading on thin ice now. You can't remake those. They are frickin classics! They can't be f'n classics if you remake them every other decade with better effects to make more money. I went on IMDB the other day and started typing in comic book characters names and they haver a movie coming out for almost every one of them. Its bullcrap I tell you.
Sorry to get off topic there.
I would have to say my fav was Pirates. Considering it had the most action and much better actors I put my vote on that one.
Question:
Anybody else work at a theater who is really hating their movie schedule right now. Releasing these movies in the same month is probably the dumbest thing hollywood has ever done besides giving brokeback and catwoman the greenlight.

Well, it wouldn't be Hollywood in general so much as Sony, DreamWorks, and Buena Vista individually.
And even though I'm not working right now because I'm away at school, I wouldn't really hate the movie schedule... it means more patrons and more hours, and thus more money.

I personally like the idea they are turning some comic book chars into a movie. Some films are not done so great when they are made into a film Catwoman/Fantastic Four but Batman Begins and the original Spidey movie imo where superb.
As an adult now i look around on TV for something to watch and its all dire reality crap or soap operas that have been running for 10+ years. Sadly i still watch Cartoons like Naruto the odd Spiderman etc.
Now all they need to do is make a movie based on "Samurai Jack"
Anyway each to their own. Bring on the comic book based movies.

No No No. You guys are twisting what im saying. other than the brokeback part. How could they possibly have a sequel to that. two lesbian cowboys. what was so great about that movie anyways. It had two guys kiss. Whoopee doo. Everyone give them credit they kissed on stage for their job.
anyways I don't mind the comic book movies until they twist them into the film version and stretch the storyline line to where the film and comic don't even match. I think they just want the characters from the comics instead of the storys themselves.
And as per the movie schedule. Yeah it means more people and more money. But thats more money for the company not for me. I got one of the lowest paying jobs in the city and im a dam manager. Not to mention the only one on my shift. We are a four screen that has pirates starting at 11:15 11:40 3:15 and 3:40, spiderman at 12 and 3:30, shrek at 11:10 1:50 4:35 (on my shift) plug in the runtime for each of those with a three person shift and you tell me why I've been so tired the past week. One day off a week isn't cutting it with me and pretty soon all these people who can't find seats because they buy their tickets hours ahead of time and get there 30 minutes late are gonna know it because the idiots are really starting to piss me off. anybody have to handle people like that. We have a name for people like that at our theater and thats ignorant a-holes that need to deal with the consequences of their ignorant actions and stop blaming and cussing and yelling at people who are trying to do their job the best they can with new people who don't know what they're doing and slow people who should know and show up on time the next time around.
I am now done and I apologize if I offended anyone in that little piece of my life. Good riddance and dont ever show up to a sold out movie late. It's dumb

One more thing. I think if they made a movie about the green lantern it could be really cool. Its kinda funny thats the only one they're not doing a movie about.

I suppose if you're salaried and not hourly, then it doesn't really matter if you work extra hours. Fair enough. Don't worry, though, patrons like that are a universal occurrence.
