You don't think 1 million people signing a petition begging you to bugger off is bad press?

I'd like to see how many signatures a "leave Uwe Boll alone he is a brilliant director" petition would get..

That's exactly what this petition is...publicity. He has no intention of stopping making movies anytime soon, and seeing as Postal is coming out soon, people will have his name on their mind. Whether they go see it or not doesn't matter. He isn't worried about that...he is doing what good filmmakers should try to do. He's getting people riled up about his art.

He knows that he's not making incredible films, and surely he knows that they don't make any money and are absolutely hated by anyone who has ever seen any of them. But at least people know who he is.

I read that blog link and if that is all true, Uwe responds to criticism like a cranky 12 year old.

Critic: "I saw your movie and I didn't like it."

Director #1 (good): "That's to bad but thanks for reviewing it."

Critic: "I saw your movie and I didn't like it."

Director #2 (bad): "F$@k you mother and she cook for you!"

Classic and classy Uwe. And yes your movies do tend to be on the shitty side of the "suck" boundary.

Haha, Uwe is a little cranky about the whole thing. He made a video response, in which he explains that he bets there could be a 'pro-Boll' petition that would also gain a million signatures.

Also, he calls Michael Bay a f***ing retard, and proclaims himself the only real genius in the business, which is pretty funny.

I bet all of the signatures would be the same one: Uwe Boll.

Wow.. that was special. I guess he has the undaunted self-confidence to sell to investors that must keep his movies getting made...

Uwe Boll done lost his mind! Here is the feedback

Michael Bay's response: "I find people who rant like that - calling shit about both me, and George Clooney - comes from someone screaming because he is not being heard. He is obviously a sad being. When you ask 'do I care'? Not in the slightest."

Eli Roth's response: "GREATEST COMPLIMENT EVER. That is just further proof of what a genius Sasha Baron Cohen is. That’s his best character yet!"

George Clooney's response: An air of unending charisma and self-satisfaction, as always.

Uwe Boll's response to their responses: Rob at RobOnt Radio passed along his interview with the director, in which he basically says he was using those big names as archetypes for the Hollywood Director, and no malice was intended. Also that he propositioned a room of 800 dentists for money?

Wow, he certainly is full of his directing abilities. I have only actually watched one of his movies. House of the Dead. It was terrible beyond belief. My friends and I sat there there making fun of how terrible it was. It will make my all time top 100 worst movies ever list. I may have to watch a few more just so he can be on my list numerous times.

His films consistently make my worst list (House Of The Dead, Alone In The Dark and BloodRayne make my Bottom 10 of all-time). But I do know a person who lists House Of The Dead as a gulity pleasure.
