I don't know, I think 21 has a shot at winning. I am going to vote for it. However, I wouldn't be suprised at all if Superhero Movie won it, expecially after Meet the Spartans beat Rambo and Cloverfield almost unexpectedly. And I would not be suprised at all if Horton won. People say it had a terrible second weekend drop, but that will easily level out. It should have about a 30-35% drop this weekend.

P.S. Who was the guy who voted for "Something else entirely"?

After seeing some of the lines today and selling some tickets, 21 might win the weekend!

Today 21 people went to our first showing of 21. We were like, haha, funny, that's ironic.

Then the second showing also sold 21 tickets. Weird...

And after one day, if my theater is any comparison to the rest of the country, 21 is coming out ahead. It consistently sold more tickets than Superhero Movie all day.

Mase's Friday estimates

Awesome for 21

Very good hold for Horton

Very terrible hold for Tyler Perry

Atrocious for Superhero Movie. We really got it wrong here, didn't we?

Good thing I took 21 in my Feb-Apr league.

I dropped Superhero and picked up 21 so that I could have enough money to drop Young@Heart and pick up Sarah Marshall in the Mar-May FY BO Superleagues. It looks like that is going to be a win/win for me.

Well, this is good and bad.

It's good because failure of this Drake Bell garbage chute will offer a blow to the genre, hopefully making studios more apprehensive before greenlighting them.

It's Bad, because I took it to close out most of my Feb-Apr slates.

According to the Fri. estimates, my heart is full. Thank you that the stupid SUPERHERO MOVIE will not be in first or second. I was really losing a lot of respect for American audiences. A lot. No, 21 is no CITIZEN KANE, but at least it takes itself seriously.

I'm in the Midwest, and the average demographic is just that, the average demographic. It's a predominantly white area, so your Meet the Browns and Roscoe Jenkins of the world don't do quite as well, and sometimes there'll be a weird thing (like Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium having great legs), but on the whole, our sales follow the national trend pretty closely.

Darn the one time that i jump onto the Spoof bandwagon it flops. Well this is the last time i ever have any on any of my slates. I dont care even if they do good in the future.

dammit, this could be goodbye from me in the Super Leagues. I was depending on the spoof movie for once, just like you UDM. Pity as well, as Im performing great in the February Super Leagues.

You're not the only one NSpannaus. I think we were all swayed by how well Meet The Spartans did, and on 23% of us saw 21 winning. Just shows no matter how much you immerse yourself in the movie world, in the end we don't really have a clue do we!

I'm in the Midwest (actually, the crossing point of Midwest and South) and urban films rarely run well (so you have to see the Tyler Perry films, The Great Debaters, Waist Deep, Pride, Hustle and Flow, etc. very quickly in their runs), though Why Did I Get Married? did run very well with the middle aged crowd. Meanwhile, horror runs really well and both After Dark's Horrorfest series ran here. Disney runs well also (especially Bruckheimer and Pixar) but the Wehrenberg chain cheats the area out of the big art films, pulling them while still doing well (Miss Pettigrew Lives A Day recently lasted just two weeks but I saw it in week two). Sometimes, the arthouse will bring certain titles back (such as Volver, The Painted Veil, Notes On A Scandal, etc.).

This week, 21 ran well, Stop-Loss and Run Fatboy Run ran in big auditoriums but Superhero Movie was running in a really small auditoriums.
