Hey, Im not doing too bad in the other rounds...yet. I may be ok. Its just this round I suck so far. Although I did pick up Semi Pro in the new leagues. Hopefully I'll be ok in that league.
I really suck at this game. What's even more annoying though is Im on here all the time, so I should have some knowledge about the game. Where as my gf only comes on once a week or so to check how her slate is doing, so she has no inside knowledge. Yet she's kicking my ass.

Maybe you should just rack off for a while SS. You're like a posting-machine, give yourself a break...

Pssst, Hey Anny! Read below.
I think maybe Herald spends to much time posting and not enough researching the game. That's why he stinks at it. I bet his GF researches the whole time he is posting and thats why she kicks his/everyone's ass/es.
"Umm, Hi SS. No I am not talking about you. Where would you get that idea? Power Cosmic? Oh, it lets you hear me whispering too? Damn!" *whispers "Power Cosmic" like saying "Newman" in a seinfeld voice*

Well if you're gonna be like that then. I know when Im not wanted
p.s I do love you Aussies and your diction. 'Rack off' - classic. I remember watching Neighbours as a kid, and it was so hilarious every time that phrase was mentioned!!
And Donte read below:
I know you're game!!! Can't get past me buddy. Anyway, I don't think I spend any less time researching than anyone else, I just got unlucky in the first round by picking Cloverfield and The Air I Breathe. Both valid choices which just didn't work. In the other leagues Im hot shit at the moment, in the top 10 of each. So there.

Yeah my posts do seem to have been building over the last few weeks. At first I was probably only 20 posts a week, but now I must be at 100 or something crazy like that. I guess since Nico left I've just wanted to try and fill the void a little. Not that my quantity of posts can ever match his quality. I hope he gets back here soon though, Im not gonna pass 1000 posts before he posts his. I think that was a good thing ash did, and I wanna pay my respects to Nico too.

Im starting to feel a little unwanted here. I do generally try to post things which may be of interest, maybe not everyone likes the things I post about, but I try not to just post for the sake of posting, except now maybe... And you probably notice Im logged on a lot just because my work is focussed on working on computers all day, so Im just consistently logged in because I cant be bothered logging off and on all the time. But if Im pissing people off, maybe I should just leave the forums and just play the games...

No don't take it personally. I like the things you post. I never said I didn't. All I said was that you always are posting something at the same time as me. I'm just amazed that someone can post 500 posts in just one month.

I'm with Herald on this. I work at a website and I am online for 8-9 hours a day. And occasionally when listening to a customer chatter on the phone or online I can get on here and post. But I don't have the Power Cosmic either. I do it under human means.
And none of us are complaining SS. We are just giving you a hard time. Plus I like hearing opinions from all the non americans on here. New perspective on things is great.
And I think all of us miss Nico and his great posts.
Hi Nico! Hope you are ok out there in the real world of Texas... Come back soon. Surfer and I are tired of talking so much with nothing to say. Well I have nothing to say. Hell I am posting my fantasy mogul inspired dreams now.

aw thanks guys, you know how to make a guy feel wanted!! I do love being on these boards though, and like you say Donte, hearing perspectives from around the globe is a great way to gauge how a film will perform, and the difference of cultures can also sway if a movie will be a success in one country or a flop in another. Just look at all the Tarantino films which never succeed in the US, while he is huge in the UK. And it's great having Chien give us all his foreign language/ indie cinema knowledge, Im looking at films I had never heard of before now.

Ah dammit! I had this whole speil lined up, then my connection broke as I was posting and I lost it all... Oh well...
Basically, in a nutshell, what I was going to say was just ask SS not to leave us. We're all just messing! I just remember the days where I was on about 250 posts, and here was this silversurfer dude with less than me, then WHOOSH - you're on how many now?
p.s I do love you Aussies and your diction. 'Rack off' - classic. I remember watching Neighbours as a kid, and it was so hilarious every time that phrase was mentioned!!
Also, I find it quite amusing that you're calling me up on my 'Aussie diction'. I did live 10 years in NZ, I still say the word 'beat' (in the past tense) as 'bet', and often still want to call 'liquid paper/correction fluid' as 'Twink' sometimes. Ah, the good old days...
Oh and I had something derogatory to say about Neigbours. Hmm, I had a whole speil lined up here. Ok 2nd time round, in summary, Neighbours is an evil cult of a show whose successful alumni such as Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, Alan Dale and Kylie Minogue (among many others) are probably all ashamed to have it on their CV (besides Kylie probably)...
Oh and Donte, you're probably right on SS, spends to much time posting, not enough reseach
Wow, off topic again, I believe...

Right guys, Im back. You probably didn't even know I was away, but I have spent the best part of a day thinking about whether I should continue on these boards. Now I know you were all joking yesterday, but it did get me thinking. I do spend a lot of time on these boards and Im sure Im probably swamping threads. Add to that my gf isn't too pleased when she sees Im on these boards all the time (I think she thinks I may be gaining an unfair advantage at the game - Has she SEEN my position in the Super Leagues!!). So I have been considering leaving the boards at least for a little while. Now don't you all cry...(especially you Donte, I know we are like Mr. Shlubb and Mr. Klump having started posting around the same time...), but in the end I was sitting here last night and my laptop was calling me. Literally calling me, I could hear its whirring as a sign to start up again. So I went to bed to sleep on it.
Well I woke up this morning with a new spring in my step, and jumped straight on here. No time for breakfast. I will try in the future to lessen my strangle hold on these boards though and not use it during my evenings at least. Then my gf will be pleased and I won't be clogging up these boards with the mindless drivel I usually do. Everyone wins.
Anyway, some comments:

How many times have I been in that situation before. If I had a comic for each time that had happened....I would be a comic geek. Wait a minute....I hate internet connections.

I can beat that. I remember when Donte and I were on about 40-60 posts and I would look up and wonder how long it would take to get me to Shryke's position. After all, when I joined, the Shryke and Nico double team were in full swing and I thought I would have to have been on here for at least a year before I would be up to their level and have a similar amount of posts. I seriously don't even realise I have posted so much though until I glance over every so often and notice I have hit or am about to hit another milestone.
Hey, Im not baiting you Aussies, I know how weird the NZ language is also. Remember I haven't been here that long, and since I've arrived I have had trouble understanding what everyone is talking about sometimes. For any Brits out there, crisps are called chips, but chips are called chips, sweets are called lollies, yet lolly ices are called ice blocks. Then we have Jandels!!! It took me a while to work this one out. Jandels are sandels, although in the UK we have our own weird term - flip flops. Oh also, twink is weird, and add that to another office term - a storage base is called a doggy. What is that all about. Weird. I love all these cultural interpretations of different words.
Oh and I had something derogatory to say about Neigbours. Hmm, I had a whole speil lined up here. Hey Im not defending Neighbours, It is a big pile of crap, though not as bad as Shortland Street I have since found in NZ. But anyway, I was think Neighbours is a cult show for how bad it is, although it could be evil as yuo say anny. And you forgot to add that girl who became a singer, not Kylie. It'll come back to me in a minute. Ah, Holly Valance. oh and Delta Goodrem. Both of those two pissed me off. But it did have one redeeming feature, Natalie Imbruglia. She is hot, so she gets a clean slate.
anyway, back on with the real discussions on these boards, enough of my sulking .

You lost me at Jandels.

Well I actually still think Holly Valance and Delta Goodrem are hot (as is Ms. Imbruglia). Delta is one of the most gorgeous girls around IMO. They do breed a good bunch down there, but I digress. I've gotta admit though, ashamed as I am, I've sat through whole episodes of the show before. I have NEVER, I repeat NEVER, sat through a whole episode of Home And Away, or Shortland Street back when I was in NZ. My knowing the existence of one crappy localsoap is enough for me.
And besides SS, I actually refer to myself as a Kiwi a lot of the time anyway, like right now I'm fervently following the NZ v England Test Match online (I'm going for the Kiwis obviously), you won't see me following Australia though.
Sorry if you don't follow cricket (which is probably everyone here, what with the Yanks and all), but on the other thread people were talking about their FM-related dreams. I had a dream that Stephen Fleming's career finished (as it will in 5 days) with his career average below 40. I was like NOOOO! How's that for geeky...
Anyway, this thread was about the Super Leagues, was it not?

So does that mean you support NZ when they play Australia? You must be popular in Melbourne when that happens.

Not everyone. I played a game of 20/20 two weeks ago. Runout for 4 runs and took 1 wicket (caught at 1st slip) for about 7 runs off 2 overs.
Sorry for the digression everyone. Back to the super leagues. I will be getting my first last place ever and, of all leagues to do it in, it is in a super league. Ouch!
