I've decided to Woodcock in one of my leagues.
It's the only thing I could do considering I have to make up for DEATH AT A BLOODY FUNERAL...which not only tanked, never even made it in the vacinity of the tank...AND it cost $12...12...
Will the Brits ever learn to market film in the US? I doubt it...

Has anybody bashing Comebacks even seen a preview, or all you just ranting on the fact that most spoofs in the past few years have sucked it up. I too thought comebacks looked eh. After the preview I am now eagerly awaiting this movie.
And anybody that doesn't like Koechner must be a kammi. He's got to be one of the greatest supporting actor in the comedy genre ever. Think about all the frickin hilarious movies he's been in. Now think of those movies without him. While they will still probably be funny. They would still be missing something. Very important.

That's just it, I don't think the trailer for The Comebacks is anything special. It's not that I don't like David Koechner; I do think he's funny, but one person cannot save a movie (just like McLovin alone couldn't save Superbad -- and I know that I may be in the minority on that one).

I agree COMPLETELY. After seeing it, the McLovin + police story arc was the only thing I found enjoyable about the movie. By the end I was thinking Jonah Hill was a selfish whiny bastard and Michael Cera was too smart to actually have remained his friend for so long. On top of that the majority of their story line was so overwhelmingly dominated by sex/genitalia that only a drunk high school boy would enjoy it.

All of what you wrote is true, however that is the exact reason why I loved the movie. It brought back high school nostalgia. Especially with the awkward body language and how the "nerd" actually was the only one to come through in the end.
Oh yeah, back on topic, I was going to say that Woodcock seemed to end up being a decent choice. The estimates put it int he top five and it got bit of cash. I've read some bad reviews so that might hurt in the long term,e specially with RE, Chuck, Syndey, Eastern going wider all doing business this weekend.

I thought superbad was great. Yeah Jonah was a whiny little shit. You think Apatow did that on accident. It was part of the story. I thought all the elements and personality traits blended together beautifully. Yes the police and mclovin routine was the best part. But you can't tell me Jonah getting his leg used as a tampon wasn't funny. It was effing great.
Anyways. The comebacks has more going for it than just david koechner. I've been waiting for someone to spoof the retarted sports movies that have come out lately and the comebacks has I everything I've been waitin for. I mean, they're making fun of radio. Thats frickin great.
