Answering such a question is as hard as having to anounce your favorite film ever. I can't, there's just too much talent around, here and there, today and yesterday to be able to name one.

If I had to name the living actors I'd watch pretty anything they're in, be them stars or underrated or underused actors, I'd probably name Daniel Day-Lewis, Jack Nicholson, Sean Penn, Jeff Bridges, Stanley Tucci, Liev Schreiber, Kevin Costner, Bill Murray, Leonardo DiCaprio, De Niro, Ralph Fiennes, Ed Norton, pacino, Eastwood, Ryan Gosling. I forget a few probably, and that's just for the english language.

Don't forget Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Song Kang-ho, Daniel Auteuil, Sergio Castellito, Alain Delon and many others in many other countries...

I'm gonna go ahead and add John Malkovich and Nicole Kidman to my list as I am big fans of both. John Malkovich should definately be in way more movies. Con air was genius acting.
