Agree with you 100% about the "gets a bit silly at the end"... It is one of those movies where the movie was good, definitely not a waste of time, but after reading the book is was a pretty massive let down.

It got me so confused when i saw him not dead at the end and all his dead bodies in the tanks then i realized that he cloned himself over and over again and killed the clones.

I thought the end of the Prestige was as good as it could have been. I convinced my wife to see it with me- she liked it but thought it was too dark for her. I should have brought to see the Illusionist- she would have liked it a lot more, romantic happy ending and all.
I prefered the Prestige. Raw, unflinching story about the destructive power of obsession and being the best. Which is why I loved the ending.

Thats funny. That has got to be the dumbest funny movie of all time. The Fax Machine. Seriously. Where does he come up with that stuff. Good ole old school SNL movies. Those where the best. Night at the Roxbury. Classic.

I read the book after seeing the movie hoping it would really clear things up. It didn't. The book however was amazing. I just didn't expect it to be so unlike the movie.

Positive Moral Values???
Good question. Even the ones that you think are going to be positive end up being just about greed, murder, back-stabbing, lying, cheating...I'm thinking Crash or Blood Diamond...that kind of thing.
The only ones I can think of off the top of my head right now are:
Contact - Good, objective discussion of relegion Vs science and a reminder that we are all on this planet together so we might as well get along. That kind of thing...the politics wasn't shoved down our throats.
Bruce Almighty - Maybe but most of the film was about how stupid humans are and how highly we think of ourselves, but Morgan Freeman did make a good G_d.
Its a Wonderful Life...no explanation needed.
It's early in the morning in these parts, my brain isn't entirely awake.

Your losing the ball in the sun guys positive moral Values is NOT the topic.(But could be if someone wants to kick it out there)The film I'm taking I saw someone else mention also about a serial killer who during the course of the film really does develop. That being Kevin Costner/William Hurt in and as"Mr. Brooks" so far this year this film is my underated gem.

To be honest, I think you can extract a moral value out of any film you watch. Even if it's a tragic tale, the moral is to beware whatever mistake or chracter flaw leads the protagonist to his or her fate.
I'm sure Evan Almighty has some overt moral, but I could never be bothered to watch it.

Jim carrey wasn't a cameo in the original skit. He was written in it. Why he didn't play in the movie. I have no Idea. Go buy the best of Will Ferrel SNL. It'll be the best twelve bucks you ever spent. And thats for both discs. Anyways. The original Night at the Roxbury skit is on there. among many other hilarious things.
If anybody knows why Carrey didn't do the movie. I'd love to know.
