Is anyone else tired of Sandler movies? They've become a genre in itself and even his regular co-stars (Allen Covert) have starred making their own movies ("Grandma's Boy").
Don't get me wrong, I love "Billy Madison" and "Happy Gilmore". And I even don't mind "Big Daddy", but when he keeps coming out with good stories with horrible, same old plotlines that make up a Sandler and Happy Madison Production, it feels repetitive. And not in a repetitive sex-for-the-first-time-all-over-again...

How are the sandler movies bad. He's what. Almost forty and still debuting at number one at the box office. How many other comedians of his time are still going that strong. Especially with the dramatics. You can't tell me Reign over me was bad.

In response to that cRAzy, I'll respond by quoting Mr. Sandler. "Whoopity-dooo!" Unlike much of his movies involving time-traveling remotes and pseudo-gay firemen, I'll take the kid-who-just-won't-grow-up. He's not that anymore, unfortunately. I haven't seen "Reign Over Me" but indeed want to, though I am anticipating an overblown performance. Go Don Cheadle.

there was no overblown performance. Cheadle and Sandler Kicked serious ace in this movie. The performances should have gotten a lot more credit than they did.
P.S. Sandler will never get old

Simpsons... I just heard from a friend who saw a midnight screening last night apparently "it was everything they've wanted to do with the show but haven't been able to fit"

If you are a simpson fan at all. Even if you've only seen one episode and laughed one time. Go See This Movie. Take some friends though. It might not be funny without them. We laughed the entire movie. Also make sure you stay for the credits. Especially if you work or have worked at a theater. Easily one of the best comedys of the year.

Im not so sure about the Simpsons Movie. It wasn't NEARLY as good as i thought it would be. It seems that they had a quick plot and wanted to rush everything, but the jokes were great! This movie flys by and should have been lenghtened.
[7.2/10]

The high water mark for Sandler films was The Wedding Singer. Most of his other films before that, while not all classics, are easy to rewatch and it seems like the stuff after that he is trying too hard. This is, incidentally, about the time that he gets his own production company. He also starts aspiring to become a 'real' actor.
The Adam Sandler of the early to mid 90's would have never considered script like Chuck and Larry. I miss that Sandler.

The Simpsons Movie was great. It was hilarious.
I give it... an 8/10.
Since iamhollywood is using decimals, I'm giving The Simpsons Movie 8.1/10.

I agree with both iamhollywood and crazy on this one, Simpsons movie was indeed excellent and the hour & a half flew by, however it didn't leave me rolling in the aisle like I had hoped. However, the whole Spider Pig song kills me every time!
For pure enjoyability factor, plus the liklihood of rewatching, i'd give it a solid 8/10.

They sang that song what. 3 times. and all in different styles too. Now thats funny.
On another note. I can't believe everyone thats bashing sandler. Everyones gotta grow up sometime. Just because he's not an imature violent partyer anymore doesn't mean he's lost his touch. Look at Jim Carrey. When's the last movie you've seen of his that rivals When nature calls. Eternal Sunshine was plain retarted as was spanglish and punch drunk. But they saw they were getting older and it was time to branch out and see what other talent they had up their sleeves. They can't be the bad boys of comedy forever. His comedy may have changed but that doesn't mean it's not funny. He's just doing what everyone else from his era is doing. Eddie Murphy would also be a good example. He hasn't cussed like he did in Beverly Hills cop in what. Almost ten years. But he's still funny. While their original comedies remain classics. Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Ace Ventura, Beverly Hills Cop, So on and so forth. They might be getting older. and less energetic in their work. I still don't see how that makes them any less funnier. So what if their style changed. You might not think they're funny anymore. But somebody does. Cause they're still raking in the cash. And for Jim Carrey thats all that matters.
