I always think games with strong stroylines should be used for movies. Which is why I can't really envisage GTA or hitman as movies. They're fun to play, but not to watch.

I think you're not giving GTA it's writing credit. The GTA stories have always been incredibly well-written and epic in scale. Vice City had a darn excellent story.

I'd like to see an Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion treatment.

Another Western would be really cool. I saw the western set at Universal studios and it didn't look like anyone filmed on it in at least 5 years.

The Apprentice apprentices filmed short films there for last season's The Apprentice.

Definately God of Effing War. Although the game is already pretty much like a movie. Especially the second. Even leaves it open for a third. Still would make one hell of a movie though. Not sure who would make a good kratos though. The guy who does the voice is pretty scrawny

I think a 'LORD of War' is good enough

No mean to be rude but you obviously haven't played the awesomness that is god of war. Otherwise you would know that they are two totally different things. While Cage is a BAMF, in no way does he come close to equaling kratos. Check your local game informer or something. It didn't win game of the year for nothing.

God of War, everyone always raves about it.

Although I've never played the game, it just looks like another action game, can't be any different to Crash Bandicoot or Ratchet and Clank but with extra violence and blood.

Maybe I should sit down and play it one day.

You're right, I haven't played it. The genre doesn't interest me.

Tuan, if you get a chance you should definitely check out God of War. It is NOTHING like Crash or Ratchet. The gameplay and action are both spectacularly top-notch. Yeah, it's a little bloody, but that's really only a minor setback if you're not into that. Besides, GOW is massive, it's epic, and tells a wonderful story. In fact, epic doesn't even begin to describe the scale. There aren't too many games where you can climb into a temple on the back of a giant titan, or spur on giant horses to tow entire islands!

I'd like to see a studio put some decent money with a good production company make a film treatment of Fallout. That would make for an interesting film. Especially after seeing the Fallout 3 trailer recently.

Its good to see I'm not the only god of war fan in this area. Did I mention Micheal Clarke Duncan did the voice for atlas in the second one.
And if your wondering what the story is like. Take 300 and troy. Throw in an angry white guy with a black guys voice with two chains burned into his wrist with blades attatched to the ends, story aside, you got yourself one hell of a revenge slaughter fest.

Ooh, and Metal Gear Solid. There was so much exposition (ok, too much, but it was fascinating and well thought-out) in the games that the material is ripe for adaptation.

God, the storyline in Metal Gear Solid drove me nuts, it was so boring. I spent so long clicking to get out of those dialogue scenes.

1)Fallout- for sure an interesting storyline that even as a game was often movie-like, though unfortunately the whole FPS with diseased/zombies has been done to death with RE/Doom/Stay Alive/28 days&weeks.
2) Final Fantasy - the storylines and complexity in all of the FF series of games make it easy to see any number of possible movies. Sadly, the terrible over-hyped Spirits Within stunk in the box office despite big budget and big name voice acting, while the more recent and not widely available Advent Children was more of the awe inspiring, well layered, action packed stories i would expect to see from FF.
3) No One Lives Forever - based on a Bond book it would have a similar classic and classy feel, but with a female lead.

No One Lives Forever as classic and classy? It's the most kitcsh game ever! It's like making Austin Powers a game. Sure it's enjoyable, but it's utterly silly.

Yeah, I think Final Fantasy 8 would make the best movie. In fact, I think it could make a great trilogy of movies.
