Where do you live? Because that sounds like a big city theatre lineup. Over here, they sneak in the trailers for a lot of crap (Delgo, anyone?) and rarely show the good trailers (I still have yet to see trailers for Changeling, Zach and Miri Make A Porno, Punisher: War Zone or the new Quantum Of Solace trailer in that theatre).

By the way, is anyone interested in a Bankrupts league?

Certainly, but I would have thought Roodey would be setting one up when the leagues open.

I live in Massachusetts but its not a big city theater but we do get good trailers normally but the number of trailers varies severely between like there only 4 before Pineapple Express but there was 8 or 9 in front of Eagle Eye.

I see. Sometimes the theatre I mentioned even plays films without trailers. I remember seeing The Brave One and 3:10 To Yuma (among others) last year without any trailers. Most I remember seeing there on one film was seven trailers, on Signs and another one that I don't remember (around 2003, it was probably The Hulk). Still remember that my mother and sister were amazed that I wanted to see Soderbergh and Cameron's Solaris remake back when Signs was out and the trailer played (I actually liked the remake and own the DVD but the original is still way better).
Meanwhile, have you seen the Delgo trailer? The animation makes Space Chimps look like Wall-E. And the dialogue (recorded in 1998, back when star Freddie Prinze Jr. was big) isn't much better. Apparently Freestyle Releasing thinks it's going to bigger than Marley and Me and The Day The Earth Stood Still but to me it's a prime Bankrupts pick.

Have no worries, there will be a new Bankrupts league -- perhaps one I'll even do well in -- as soon as the new leagues are available. I'm on here every morning and every night so there shouldn't be too much wait time with the setting up.

JackO, Rocky Balboa made $80 million on a $20 million budget and it resurrected Stallone's career. Hardly a flop.
Cheaper By The Dozen 2 wasn't a flop either. Didn't reach the first's total but it did fine box office.
Meanwhile, The Brothers Bloom is not like The Bucket List. In fact, it doesn't even appeal to the audience that The Bucket List appealed to. It is basically Ocean's Eleven's bastard stepchild directed by a hack trying to emulate the Wes Anderson feel.
First of all, THANK YOU! Someone is paying attention. I was thinking I could get away with writing anything around here.
And I believe there is a misunderstanding. When I wrote a Bucket List type run, I meant a film with a pretty good IMDB, and some PTA and top 5 points. It goes wide in the dregs of January.

If wross comes here, I've got a question:
I know that you are disqualified if you don't replace a delayed title, but what if you have a title that opens and was locked in only to find out the opening weekend wasn't reported. You see, I had Forever Strong which was locked in and the film opened in 200+ theatres but the company neglected to report the box office. I feel that I shouldn't be disqualified simply because the company didn't report the numbers. There's even proof that the film opened and some theatres are still selling tickets.
God damned technicalities.

I've not heard of that one before. I think you should not be disqualified, because there is nothing you could have done to prevent that scenario. However, if nothing is reported, then FM will not update their tables accordingly, and so it makes it impossible to place you. Maybe next weekend the numbers will come in, but I guess someone like Roodey or W may have a solution....

Same thing happened with Postal earlier this summer. Everyone had it in Bankrupts and the opening weekend (actually, the only weekend) totals were never reported. As a result, the estimates still showed up on everyone's slates.

That happened to me with City of Men back in Feb. I didn't have an update until almost a month after the movie opened.

I don't really know why its a question for me, but I'd wait and see first, but I'm assuming that the league is final since it opened last week, so... I don't know.
