the one that I think will do really well that no one saw coming? Hot Rod.

That's a good call. Andy (Dick in a Box) Samberg is probably the only reason to watch SNL these days, he's had some of the funniest and best sketches that have aired in the last 10 years or so. his humor could translate well to the big screen.

We've discussed this at work, never thought to bring it up here...

Thanks for that image, kid_icarus.

I personally would love to see Andy Dick in a box, buried deep beneath the earth... but that's just me.

As for Hot Rod, I don't know much about Adam Samberg, since I gave up on SNL about ten years ago. Having seen the trailer, it doesn't look all that funny to me. However, it's got Ian McShane in it, so it's at least got that (kick-ass) factor going for it.

i have yet to see the trailer for Hot Rod but the concept sounds funny and it could be a hit.

I think that Knocked Up is the only one out of this grouping that is guaranteed to make $100 million.

My vote is for 1408. With all the blockbusters and comedies this summer it will be a refreshing change of pace for some movie goers. And it's horror/suspense so it's definitely got my vote.

Even though I know that "Mr. Bean's Holiday" won't be the real surprise hit...but Im still voting for it

I think Surf's Up will actually surprise a lot of people. It seems people think it'll do decently, considering what it is... but I actually think it'll generate a lot better response than people anticipate.

I guess we'll see. (It should have been a polling option.)

I'll say it once again.

Captivity will die a painful death.

I'm going with Mr. Brooks. I saw the film in March and it's very good and has a great cast. Costner is supper creepy as a serial killer with William Hurt playing his alter ego and Dane Cook is surprisingly good in this dramatic role.

I'm beginning to think that Fantastic Four 2 will do considerably better than people think it will. Most predict it will be more in the $130-$150M range, but I think it'll go close to $200... which would be a surprise, to some.

Speaking of surprises, how many people thought that Disturbia would end up with a whopping 22 Top 5 points? I mean, holy Rear Window, Batman!!

I'm not sure I'd be suprised on that one. considering all the movies released around it. Disturbia was probably hands down the Best april movie.

My money is on 1408. It looks generally freaky. That trailer is just something else, dude. Either that, Hot Rod, or Balls of Fury. I can't WAIT for any of them! But hey, that's just me.

Yeah, the first Fantastic Four opened to $52M. With the great marketing and awesome trailers so far for it, I'm predicting an opening of $70M with a $165M - $180M final gross.
