My dislike for Gibson has nothing to do with his religious background or personal opinions. What I do have a problem with are his abilities as a director, and his films. I dont' care who made it, The Passion is one of my least favourite films of all time.

That said, I doubt I would like Gibson as a person after his anti-semetic comments, but I'm not going to judge him based on that.

Returning to this thread, I'm now beginning to think that Bruce Willis is the toughest mo-fo around.

Clint's too old.

He can barely hold the camera.

Crazy i agree with you on Clint. I never saw Passion and never will. First of all he has made tons of other movies like Braveheart. The point was anyone who could make a movie like that and not get shot down by any other groups is a badass. It was kind of sarcastic.

I know it's probably a joke, but it looks like you confused Clint Eastwood with Mel Gibson, there.

I know its a little late. But... Did anyone see Flags of our fathers. I wouldn't call that bad ass. I drunken Indian dude having flashbacks and a bunch of fame struck white dudes trying to get out of going to war by parading around the country lying to people to get them to buy war bonds. Lame. I wouldn't say the movie was all that bad. But Im not really a fan of those kinds of war movies. Clint. Definately not bad ass.(anymore)

Flags was pretty disappointing. Yeah that drunk Indian guy was the best thing in it. Too bad he died. (oops, sorry if I spoiled it for anyone)

Drunken Indian guy (Adam Beach) wasn't the best thing about the movie, the end credits were.

"Flags of Our Fathers" saving grace was its kid-sister, "Letters from Iwo Jima". Any man that shoots a foreign-language film in a foreign-land right after shooting another movie about the same topics is "badass". The man doesn't even know Japanese and he's directing a slew of Japanese in it.

Watch "Letters" on DVD Tues.

And you guys are silly about your disdain for Mel Gibson. I find out it particularly interesting because it is one of the worst movies as a whole, especially story-wise. But, and this is a big BUT, if you come into the film having some emotional attachment, possibly love for who Jesus Christ was and is, then you might be more sympathetic of the movie. For me, it's almost impossible to love something/someone I've never seen, just read about, but to see something like (not exactly) why Christ could have gone through, take away all the Hollywood glamour, and you have real emotions for this man you've read about in a Book, but rarely have the opportunity to experience what he actually went through. That's how Gibson was "cheating". He was taking on a subject that an infinite amount of people have knowledge of and using that to aid the overall experience. As a whole, the movie stinks. But, watching the film, on a certain level, is a much different story partly because it becomes so personal.

Come ooon, Brucey must be the ultimate badass. I mean it's Bruce Willis, Die Hard, Die Harder, Sin City, 16 Blocks... All badasses with problems, none of them a real upstanding citizen, all of them kicking a** like there's no tomorrow.
And now, in Die Hard 4.0, Brucey is gonna kick some cybernetic a** and save the day once again... And how old is he? must be pushing 52 or something and i have a feeling, he is gonna kick so much a** in the movie and at the box office.
Gotta go with Willis.
