Australia - Looks terrible, I don't see any kind of audience for this.

The Spirit - I think it looks incredibly cheesy, and not in a good way. I love the female lineup though, especially Eva Mendes and that lady from Studio 60. It'll play more like AVP:R than 300, as far as box office goes.

Notorious - I can't make up my mind on this. I'm a huge Biggie fan and can't wait to see their take on Biggie's and Pac's friendship before they turned on each other. But the casting looks atrocious, although I think Derek Luke can get Puffy down easily. I'll check it out since I'm a big fan but I don't expect much.

W. - I really want to see this, to see how hard Stone goes at Bush. Looks great IMO.

Madea Goes To Jail - No comment. (Is that the first trailer to have a goof in it though? I never heard a director call "Cut" in a trailer before.)

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - The first trailer made it look beautiful, this ones makes it look ridiculous. People laughed at the CGI and his voice when I saw it in a theater. My expectations have fallen greatly, but I'll still check it out.

Valkyrie - No thanks.

Inkheart - "Bedtime Stories", much?

Banks correct me if i'm wrong but isnt it Bedtime stores - "Inkheart" much. I saw the trailer for Inkheart a long time ago like 6 or 7 months and didn't hear anything about bedtime stories until somewhat recently. plus i believe that Inkheart was based on a book series.

Okay, I'll touch on the 6 that interested me (either positively or negatively).

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button Wow. Just wow. And a good wow. I thought the first trailer was mesmerising, and although many didn't like this trailer, I thought it was even more fascinating than the first. Last year I was all about Juno. I'm labelling it now. This is my Juno. This is my baby for the year that I'm gonna champion for the next few months, just like I did this time last year with Juno. Unlike Banks, my expectations have now risen... this is a masterpiece in the making, people. Box office wise, it should be big, but it could end up with a bit of a Sweeney Todd run at worst.

Seven Pounds Can anyone say Will Smith Oscar winner? I don't think it'll be as successful as some of his other films. Certainly no where near I Am Legend from last year, and not even near the comparable The Pursuit Of Happyness, but it should make a solid 100mil. I do want to find out more about it though.

W. Now this is anyone's guess. Shryke mentioned that Stone is targeting Bush's remaining fans. I think this couldn't be further from the truth. It's part satire, so it'll bring in the Bush-haters as well... and no doubt it'll do well internationally IMO as Bush is such a polarising figure around the world as well. It could be MASSIVE... but then again it could also has the potential to bomb bad.

Australia I think it looks great. Baz Luhrmann has pedigree. Strictly Ballroom is one of my biggest guilty-pleasure rom-coms and Romeo+Juliet & Moulin Rouge weren't bad either. Of course this isn't going to appeal to most FMers as we mainly consist of males who generally can't stand period romance. However, as an Aussie I hope it does well, it surely has the potential to do so. Like W., it could be massive, but then again if it does bomb, it'll only bomb in the U.S., internationally it should be a hit regardless.

The Spirit Gosh I want this to be good. The trailer was "better" than the previous ones, but as Banks said the cheese factor went up tenfold. I agree with his AvP:R comparison... maybe a bit better though. I so wanted this to be better than Watchmen (due to my dislike for Snyder after 300) but that's just a ridiculous thought now. The more you watch the Watchmen trailer, the more it grows on you. The more you watch The Spirit trailers, the more wearisome they become.

Valkyrie Tell me if this is an odd comparison to make... but I thought of Memoirs Of A Geisha while watching the trailer. In that we had predominantly Chinese actresses playing Japanese women speaking English, and here we have American and British actors playing Germans speaking English. I just feel weird watching it, knowing they SHOULD be speaking another language. I guess that's why a little bit of the effect from Schindler's List was diminished for me. As for the film... meh. It did nothing for me. It'll probably get gobbled up by the competition, although a nice $50mil domestic gross should be the target.

Here are my thoughts

Seven Pounds- Looks Great i think Smith might have a shot at the oscar.

Australia-looks horrendous Moulin Rouge sucked so why would this be any good

The Spirit- I am proably the only one thinks this looks amazing cheesy yes but still amazing i am going to be there the day after opening day [ i cant see a movie on Christmas]

Notorious- I am dying to see this i want to see how they turn Biggies life into a film

W- I really dont know about this one i most likely wont end up seeing this one but i might on DVD

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button- looks god awful the concept is stupid and this trailer was far worse than the first one.

Valkyrie- Looks good besides the fact why are all the germans speaking perfect english with no accents

Inkheart and Madea Goes To Jail- ugh.

Considering how flag-raising World Trade Centre was, I'm sure the film is just 2 hours of Stone fellating George Bush.

From the trailers I've watched, Benjamin Button is the only one I want to see. The trailers do show a bit too much of the film, but it could be good. It's nice to see Fincher branch out even more.

Australia does look bad, a camp Oz version of Gone with the Wind. Which is why it won't be a complete bomb. It's a movie for the mothers.

The Spirit is looking worse and worse.

7 Pounds -Looks pretty intriguing. I missed Pursuit in theatres and won't make that mistake again.

Australia - A much better trailer but I don't know if it is my sort of movie. I can see the same women that drove Sex and the City and Mamma Mia to high totals driving this one.

The Spirit - The trailer was an improvement but I still have that Comic-Con footage burned into my memory hole. A little concealer isn't going to fix this one. it needs an entire makeover.

Notorious - Eh, I'm not sold.

W. - Looks funny. Filmjerk has it going wide on OW which is probably not good. I really have no idea how it's going to do.

Ben Button - I like it. This trailer kind of takes off some of it's "aura" though.

Madea Goes to Jail - Tyler Perry should go directly to jail, do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

I'm not even going to bother with Inkheart.

I forgot Valkriye - um looks pretty lame.

*sigh* tut tut... what are we going to do with you tranny. A potential Best Picture contender... and you dismiss it like that. I'm sorry, but not everything has to have a straight forward rigid story with explosions left, right and centre to be brilliant. Open you mind, broaden your horizons a little, man! Hopefully with age, comes some taste... hopefully...

Sorry, hopefully I wasn't being too harsh there

I have broadned my horizons anny every best picture contender except for Ben Button and Milk looks good to me. Last year i saw Every Best Picture nominee [except for Juno] And the only one i disliked was Atonement. There Will Be Blood was overated but still pretty good. Michael Clayton was great to and No Country for Old Men was number 6 on my top 10 films of 2007. So sorry i kind of lashed out at you anny but i really dont think my taste in films is really that bad.

Seven Pounds: Looks good, like Pursuit of Happyness good, but honestly I'm getting tired of Will Smith. Hancock anyone?

Australia: Looks epic. I think the 'love story' aspect is turning a lot of you guys off. I might see it, not sure yet

The Spirit: I dont know what to think about it, but i'll probably see it on.

Notorious: Looks really boring, who needs another bio movie on a boring rapper.

W: This movie is so going to flop. People who hate Bush are going to think that Stone made a movie that is out to make Bush look good. So they are not going to see it, and the people who like bush are going to think that Stone made a movie making fun of Bush and they aren't going to se it either.

Madea Goes To Jail: Haven't seen the first two Madeas, dont want to see this one. I dont understand why people think a guy dressing up like a lady is funny. Why couldn't they of just gotten a lady to play a lady.

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button: I think this looks really good and intriguing. I'll be there opening weekend.

Valkyrie: I'm actually interested. Even though I really dont like Cruise. I didn't even like him before he was a crazy, couch-jumping, scientology freak.

Inkheart: Any one else think Disney paid New Line to have Inkheart come out after Bedtime Stories?

anybody who has seen the latest trailer and thinks that this is a pro-bush movie is way, way, way off base

Or it could be the other way around and be a big success.

Man, Dubya is one tough film to predict. Has there ever been a movie about a President while they are still in office?

I just can't see it doing very well. I don't think it has mass appeal. No female under 25 will go see this. I'm thinking most of the audience will be radical left wingers and Oliver Stone's fans. This in no way justifies the asking price. Avoid like the plague... or ignore me, and take it, that would be even better.

Haha, it should be me that's apologizing. I lashed out at your tastes, really... I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from... It's all good though.
