I guess I won't be surprised if Knocked Up does well, but still, that's what I voted for.

Yeah, Knocked up should be the one, but would it be that surprising ?

I don't know why I chose good luck chuck because I already know adam sandler is gonna rule in that movie. The one preview I've seen for it made me laugh my ace off. Anybody else seen billy madison and happy gilmore more than 30 times. It never gets old. Unless you watch it for an entire summer straight. every night. Gotta kinda old once school started again. and yes knocked up is gonna be f'n hilarious too. just because of the guy off 40 yr old virgin whose name escapes me right now. But he's frickin funny too. and Katherine is really hot. So it should be good.

You're confusing Good Luck Chuck (starring Dane Cook) with I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James).

I think the premise of Good Luck Chuck looks funny enough, however.

Knocked Up is definitely the safest bet for hit-dom. As I will outline in my upcoming column (yes, you read that right), director Judd Apatow is hot right now.

Good Luck Chuck looks like it could be a surprise. Super Bad, I'm not so sure. Stardust could surprise, but I only think so because the trailer looks cool and everyone's been bad-mouthing it so far. Balls of Fury, despite the numerous moves, looks like it could be hilarious. And 1408? Well, any kind of hit in the horror genre would be a surprise, wouldn't it?

I think the Stardust trailer is an utter mess, it kinda remindsme of Hook, for some reason. I suspect this film could go either way.

And Good Luck Chuck seems a bit too light to make any waves. 1408 has a great trailer, but it may be swamped with its June release. I haven't seen anything about Balls of Fury, but it potentially could be the next Blades of Glory.

I like the looks of Superbad (aka Super Bad), but I think it hinders on the success of Knocked Up, seeing as they're from the same people.

I always thought that Knocked Up kind of iffy. The early marketing push made it look like a romcom, which could alienate the 40 Year Old Virgin crowd. Granted that was early, and I'm sure as the release date nears, they'll find their right market, but I don't know.
It's still competing against a 2 week Pirates, and it's got some fairly strong competition the following weeks.
That being said, early reviews are good (90% tomatometer out of 10 reviews).
Kind of want to see it.

Of course Knocked up will have trouble getting on the top of the BO because of the stiff competition, but given the critical support and the already outstanding word of mouth, I think we can expect it to monopolize the 3rd or 4th place of the Top 5 for a few weeks once the 1st week-end is passed.

Balls Of Fury Looks Great and has a lot of potenital also not much else coming out on August 31st. meanwhile Stardust looks awful and very laughable. I don't know about 1408 and Good Luck Chuck.

My bad once again. Both good luck chuck and I now pronounce you chuck and larry both look very funny though. Ones got dane cook and jessica alba. The other has Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and Jessica Biel. Looks like comedy in the making to me.

Stardust has actually gotten extremely ecstatic reviews from Harry of AICN and Quint too.

It's shaping up to be the new millennium's Princess Bride.

Hmmm, I may try to nab Stardust in a league if Harry likes it.

Personally, I think no matter how good Knocked Up is, it'll disappear relatively quickly as it's being overshadowed by kiddie films and franchaises. I can't see it gracing the Top 5 beyond its 3rd week, which is a shame as I think it could be the best film of the summer.

I'm betting on "Captivity" being a moneymaker. I think with all the controversy surrounding the publicity posters and commercials that this one may draw in quite a few people who are gonna see it just to see what all the fuss is about.

Knocked Up and Hairspray are expected to be hits, as is 1408 to a lesser extent. So out of those, the one that I think will do really well that no one saw coming? Hot Rod.
