I think at the end of February 2009 all of the movies have their BO totals added up, and then put in ascending order regarding their gross. The mogul with the closest prediction wins.

I think that it doesn't matter what order you put them in. Its just whoever's list gets the most money wins.

Obviously I am not playing this game, although I would have thought it a good idea to have a positioning chart. Maybe Delfinasu would like to consider it also as a second category.

I think that was the original plan SS, but I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the first couple pages somewhere that where were no identical slates so there was no need for tracking by rank.

With an estimate of $45,100,000 DR. SEUSS' HORTON HEARS A WHO! can surpass 100 MM USD and even 150 MM USD, depending of its "legs"... we'll see... good choice, guys!

"Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who!" slipped to No. 2 with $17.4 million. The 20th Century Fox comedy, featuring the voices of Jim Carrey and Steve Carell, became the first release of 2008 to hit the century mark, with sales of $117.3 million to date.

We have 19 moguls who have bet on Iron Man. This movie can surpass the 100 mark (35 MM USD on Friday) even on its opening weekend! It can be huUuuUUUge! We'll see... Definitely the first blockbuster of the year, chronologically speaking. It has its chances to be in the Top 10 of the year, not only in that one according of its box office... This is officially the beginning of the "summer" box office "monsters". From now on, almost every week we'll have someone who bet on a movie... After the release of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, on 8/1/8, we'll have the partial standings and we'll see the favorites for the title of the best mogul of the year Until then, I'll come back with more statistics. Keep it close!.. and gooood-goood luck!

After the first estimations, Iron Man did a great job: $100,750,000 in Opening Weekend + Thu night = $104,250,000 !!! I think that we have 6 moguls sad This movie can break even the 300 MM USD mark, considering its quality and the better than expected WOM (word of mouth)... What do you think? 8.3 on imdb, wow! I saw it too and I was impressed. Robert Downey jr. is indeed Iron Man

Nicodemus and StnMan5 have chosen Speed Racer. Sorry guys! Just 18.56 MM on opening weekend and surpassed by What Happens in Vegas (20.17 MM)... Whaaat a floooop! Meanwhile, Iron Man - 51 MM on this weekend/ $177,82 MM total until now! This movie can be on final TOP 10 of this year... Coming soon: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (23 betters) and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (24 betters)...

Don't be so certain J.I, there is still the possibility of Indy, The Dark Knight, Wall-E, Narnia, Harry Potter and Quantum of Solace surpassing it. I should just scrape into the top 5, but it is by no means a foregone conclusion.

Die Another Day made $160 million. Casino Royale made $167 million. A movie heading for around $275 million total groos will easily destroy Quantum of Solace. Narnia will probably get around $250 million, so it will most likely fall short of Iron Man. I think The Dark Knight and Iron Man will have about the same total gross, but I think Iron Man will probably beak TDK when its all said and done. And Wall-E in my opinion should make about $250 million, so it should fall short of Iron Man also.

I think you are being a little harsh on Bond, J.I. Remember, Batman Begins didn't set the world alight BO wise, but it rejuvinated the franchise and rose expectations for The Dark Knight. Now Im not saying it will reach similar figures, but Bond too has been rejuvinated since Casino Royale, and we have yet to see anything significant of Solace yet. By the time it is released Im sure anticipation will have risen for it.
And Im sure you must be the first person to predict Iron Man to beat TDK, I just cannot see that happening. I see you forgot to mention Harry Potter and Indy, both of which will certainly beat Iron Man, and Wall-E we just don't know yet. It could go huge, or, as you predict, settle around $250.
I guess we will just have to wait and see, and see how much IM slumps over the coming weeks following each blockbuster's release.
