Everyone,

According to Box Office Mojo, The Rocker has been bumped three weeks, from July 30th (Wednesday) to August 20th (still Wednesday), where it will open against Death Race, The House Bunny and The Longshots, barring any more moves.

B.O.M. has acknowledged that Hounddog has moved to 9/6, which means that anyone who has it in the May or June leagues had better replace it, pronto.

STILL no word on Henry Poole is Here moving to August, however... are you guys POSITIVE it isn't opening a week from Friday? Could it be that B.O.M. is right and the other guys are wrong? I want to believe so, because I have nothing to replace it with....

Box Office Mojo is normally right, but it sometimes updates pretty late. And someome said that Tropic Thunder is now coming out on Wednesday. (even though that wouldn't really affect the game, except maybe cost it a 1 or 2 PTA points and maybe a top 5 point the second weekend)

Something tells me that Henry Poole Is Here is going to 2009. Overture is just too busy promoting Traitor (which could be a surprise hit because of Steve Martin's story credit and trailers appearing on Indiana Jones, The Happening and Hellboy) and Righteous Kill (will make money for obvious reasons).

But yes, it will not be opening July 25th. It may not make August 15th either though.

Good thing I decided on Babylon instead. The Rocker has bomb written all over it.

I was kind of hoping that the director of The Full Monty would make a comeback but I'm guessing this isn't it.

Well the Henry Poole MySpace says August 15 for the release date so I think that's pretty much official for the time being, though it wouldn't surprise me to see it pushed back again (which would be awful for a lot of slates). The Rocker official site still reads July 30th though so until they start changing their advertising, I'll trust that first (although it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see it pushed back given the total lack of promotion). I don't expect a ton from either movie but they sure as heck beat the alternatives...

I'm pretty sure The Rocker is a non-factor no matter when it comes out. I can't seeing grabbing a Top 5 point during any weekend this entire year.

It probably won't but at least its IMDB rating is sitting at 6.8 right now. I don't think Space Chimps or The House Bunny will even sniff that, and that's pretty much where my alternatives lie at this point.

True, but I went with Diesel in most of my slates. I think it would be a fairly good pick for cheap bucks. Had The Rocker in my original slates long over, but lost faith in it very quickly.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I had Hounddog in a bankruptcy slate and the Rocker on a slate as a fill in.

I'm so confused.. thinking this was a new date, I rechecked my slates and found The Rocker already listed for 8/20 and in the exact place it was when I added it originally... we already had this date change conversation a couple MONTHS ago not sure why people are just now finding out about it....

No idea. I was assuming that it had simply changed dates AGAIN. That really wouldn't be anything new under the sun. LOL

I just checked the roster yesterday and it was listed as July 30th in FM. The reason why it was changed in-game is because BOM changed its date to August 20th. That said, the official site still lists its release as July 30th and you'd figure that they'd be more on top of it than an impartial site.

And I keep seeing TV spots that say July 30th.

Must be on syndicated television. I remember back in July they were showing ads for Charlie Bartlett stating an August 3rd release date. By then it had been moved to February.
