Believe it or not Geezer, but I love dumb comedies. I love pretty much anything as far as genres go. I love comedies of the absurd and dumb comedies, when they are sharply written and hilarious. From Holy Grail to Anchorman, from the Party to Dumb & Dumber. And I like Sandler, but most of the times I don't like his comedies, at least not those ones.

Im also not a fan of Adam Sandler comedies on the whole geez. The only thing I have ever watched him in which was good was The Wedding Singer. But apart from that I just can't stand his comedies. So as you can guess I wasn't too impressed by your latest additions.

Rocky IV was fun, nothing more. Would never make my list.

However, I also was very pleasantly suprised by The Prestige (why was I suprised - It was Chris Nolan for christ's sake!) and maybe it would make my list after a few more watches and a few more years. At the moment though I prefer Batman Begins and Memento.

The Two Towers - well I fought hard to get The Lord Of The Rings on my list, but it wasn't quite good enough. And even then I prefer The Fellowship. I got bored by the Tree Beard bits. I remember getting bored in the books reading that bit too. But the rest of the movie is top class, with a great final battle, which was a better final battle than ROTK.

45. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
44. The Waterboy
43. Rocky IV
42. The Prestige
41. Happy Gilmore

#45. The Helm's Deep battle scene was AWESOME, almost eclipsing the storming of Minas Tirith in ROTK. And the Ents were surprisingly cool.
#44. Sandler's comedies tend to be all-hit or all-miss to me. This one was a miss.
#43. I still love watching James Brown's "Living in America" video on YouTube, which has scenes from this film. Great song, great movie.
#42. I found The Illusionist to be far superior to this. The trailer was great, but I found this one to be boring, overlong and far-fetched.
#41. Now, THIS one was an all-hit for me, believe it or not. "The price is WRONG, BITCH!!!!"

I think The Two Towers was the worst fo the LOTR films..... by FAR. The first was ominous and mysterious, the last was cathartic, but this film felt messy. There were a few side stories that detracted from the pace of the film. Like Shryke, the battle was pretty cool, but the ents were underplayed.

38. The Empire Strikes Back
37. The Shawshank Redemption
36. Kill Bill

Wow, just realized how close I put these two Tarantino films. Like I have mentioned before, I consider Kill Bill to be one film, that was cut in half to make money. Therefore there is only one entry for both movies as a collective. A lot of people thought the sequels to the Matrix sucked, but I personally loved Reloaded. I was disappointed by Revolutions though. The Shawshank Redemption belongs on anyone's list. I think the story is arguably the best ever told, long but not boring, with a perfect ending. Many would disagree but as awesome as I think all of the original trilogy of Star Wars are, I like Empire the least of the 3. As they say in the also great film Clerks:

Randal- "Which did you like better: Jedi or The Empire Strikes Back?" Donte- "Empire."
Randal- "Blasphemy."

I agree with Randal, although I love the first the best.

Chien, when I made my list when I was 16, I think I had Reloaded at number 2. I absolutely loved it. It has obviously slipped, but its still pretty up there. The special effects, the fight of 100 Smiths, the freaking car chase scene! A great film to get my action junkie fix.

#40. It has been far, far too long since I've sat down and watched this. QT's first, and while not his best, definitely memorable.
#39. I agree with your sentiments for Part 3. Part 2 was decent, pretty much saved by the freeway scene, which was frickin' AWESOME.
#38. Probably the only chapter where most of the laser-action happened at the beginning, not the end, which is probably why most people don't like it as much. But it still deserves it's place in the Hall of Fame. Was there EVER a bigger bombshell than "Luke, I am your father'?
#37. Was #1 on an EW poll of "Best Films to Watch Over and Over Again". And why wouldn't you? Freeman and Robbins at their best.
#36. QT's best. And while I don't consider them one entity rather than two, I could watch the House of Blue Leaves scene over and over again. And have.

A largely very good addition to your list there Geez. Of course its blasphemous to have Empire placed any lower than first, but I will let that slip go.

Reservoir Dogs, Shawshank Redemption and Kill Bill are all very classy films, with Reservoir Dogs my personal favourite QT movie. They are all movies I can watch over and over again, which is what is most important for compiling this list.

However, I couldn't justify Matrix Reloaded's inclusion. While, as you note, that the action scenes in the movie are fantastic, you cannot make a movie based just on its action scenes. The first Matrix was so good because it had a great story which moved at a great pace while maintaining the action. I felt too often any momentum gained in Reloaded was wasted by a series of dull scenes where very little happened. And to top it off the famed 'rave/orgy' scene was just a joke. Morpheus' speach beforehand sounded forced and unlike his character from the previous movie, and then the rave was a complete waste of time. I always find myself distracted during that scene, and Carrie Anne Moss is the only thing which keeps me interested.... anyway, I can see why you love this movie, but I just thought it far too inferior to its predecessor to warrant a place on my list.

Anyway, the movies are mainly getting very good now, I eagerly await the next installment.

Yeah Surfer, it was right around here where I really started to struggle with the order. I had to put a lot more thought into it around here all the way to the end of the list. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the selections. Anyway, onto the update:

33. Saw
32. Die Hard
31. Back to the Future

I don't think I have to justify any of these picks. Maybe a lot of people wouldn't put Saw on their list but to me it had the most awesome ending of any movie ever made. The rest are just all completely amazing movies that were complete locks from the moment I sat down to think about the list.

Wow, some great popcorn movies there!

#35. I'll assume you mean the Clooney version and not the Rat Pack version (which I never saw). Great movie, so laid back and cool. "There's a woman's prison down the road..."
#34. Oh, man. Hanks, Bacon, Harris, Sinise, Paxton... terrific from beginning to end.
#33. Well, the original was pretty groundbreaking, no matter what came after it.
#32. The inspiration for a lot of lame one-man-army films, but a classic. Every line a catch-phrase, every frame etched into our mind. John McClane is a true blue-collar hero (though he'd never admit it!)
#31. ANOTHER classic. This list just gets better and better!
