Now that we got Myers and Sandlers stinkers out of the way, i have a question for you Comedy Kings, which comedy coming up are you most excited about?
1. Tropic Thunder (been waiting a long time for this one)
2. The Pineapple Express (Rogen is a cash cow)
3. Step Brothers (Talladega Nights just didn't do it for me, i want more Anchorman!)
4. I cant think of any other good funny movies coming out, anyone?

You failed to include Burn After Reading. I have high hopes for Tropic thunder, the rest will suck, but Burn After Reading is a sure thing.
Edit - oh and, considering Sandler's "stinker" did nearly 30m over projected total box office to date, its hardly a stinker.

$30 million more than projected? I know you're not talking about You Don't Mess with the Zohan. Its doing worse than expected.

So let's see, the film cost 9 bucks and FM projected it to make 65 total with 5 top five points and 1 PTA point and it gets close to 98 million 6 top 5 and 2 PTA and it's a stinker? It even matched it's IMDB score!

J.I... It was only projected to make around 70m! where are you people getting your projections lately, it seems everyone is forgetting those numbers on our slates before they start filling otu

Oh, yeah, and The Incredible Hulk was only supposed to make $60 million, and Get Smart was only supposed to make $85 million, and Wall-E was only supposed to make $180 million, and Wanted was only supposed to make $60 million. Lets face it. Those June predictions were WAY to low. All those movies, no they didn't exceed expectations at all (except for Wanted), they were just predicted WAY too freakin low.

I went for Tropic Thunder off the list, but the 'BEST' will quite probably be Hamlet 2 or maybe Burn After Reading in a few months. Pineapple Express looks very good though. And I have no interest in Step Bros. whatsoever. Meet Dave should struggle to even be classed a 'comedy'.
And I think J.I is referring to the projections most of us assumed Zohan would get, not FM's wild predictions. There was no way in hell Zohan would make less than $70m gross, and FM's projection was ridiculous. Most of us assumed Zohan would get between $100 and $120m total, and it's matched if not a little under those predictions. I am glad it was on a couple of my slates though, a cheap bargain.

dude!! sandler's movie was to be a success if it could make 100$mil, and it did (or will soon) touch that figure....what more can you ask for than blockbuster status??

I think he meant in terms of quality it was a stinker, not box office.

Geez, thank you!
I actually haven't seen Zohan yet, but as Geezer has pointed out it didn't really do well in terms of quality, from what ive heard, and compared to the big 3 (SB, tPE, TT), it probably will stink. Sandler's films dont disappoint at the BO, when did he last have a feature comedy that groosed under 100M?
Burn after reading...............im lookn into it now!....and will burn the computer afterwards

Yeah the question is the BEST comedy, not which will make the most money. Zohan may have made it to blockbuster status, but it is certainly a 'stinker'.

Pineapple Express handsdown. I have seen that trailer probably 8 times now and I am still laughing. Rogen is gold these days

I can't wait for Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder.
I love the song they use in the trailer; it's so chill yet gets me pumped. I also love how they are bringing Rosie Perez back. And you can't go wrong with Gary Cole!
Tropic Thunder just looks like comedic gold. I can usually trust Stiller to bring us something good.
OT: I'm trying to figure out where the style of the Pineapple Express poster came from? I know I've seen the smoke thing in the background done before. Even the way the three guys are posed. Its bugging me.
