Nico, you mean the Buffaloes of Colorado? Whoo-whee, what a CRAAAZY weekend for college football, with #3 Florida, #4 Oklahoma, #5 West Virginia, #7 Texas, #10 Rutgers, #11 Oregon (ok, not really an upset losing to #6 Cal), #13 Clemson, #21 Penn State, and #22 Alabama all suffering upset losses. Looks like USC, LSU, OSU, and Wisconsin are the only ones still hangin in the National Championship hunt! Wild times.

I think you gotta put Cal in the BCS Title hunt, even though the Pac-10 teams will just beat the crud out of each other and get neglected by the polls. I'm a UCLA alum, but I gotta say Cal looks good, despite their complete lack of defense.

Shryke: Yeah, you guys pulled a big upset, and my Niners got trounced by the Seahawks, but the NFC is so inconsistent and out of whack that the Steelers can dominate a weak NFC West team one week, and totally fall apart against another weak NFC West team the next. Still, great win for your team

Guys, take it elsewhere, some sort of (American) Football site, perhaps. Hell, take it to a foot fetish board for all I care (sorry, just watched Death Proof, and boy does that film have an obsession with booty and feet [and overlong self-indulgent conversations that go nowhere- do we really need a 5-minute speech on why Vanishing Point is so cool?])

OSU and Wisconsin have next to no chance of winning the National Championship game. As of now, it looks as if its going to be LSU and USC although the Trojans seem to be struggling a little. Some other candidates for the game would most likely be (3)California, (10)Oklahoma, (9)Florida, and in my personal opinion, the Rainbow Warriors of (16)Hawaii.

[[Prediction]] UCLA makes a comeback to the top 10.

Da Bears lost god damn it bring on Pimpin Kyle Orton...

[Laughing] ...That is, hands-down, the second-funniest thing I've read in the last week... Sorry, transformers2... Perhaps you can find out what Quincy Carter is up to these days? (Probably, a 3.0 blood-alcohol level...) Or Drew Henson? Or Vinny Testaverde? (I know, sloppy seconds suck...)

Shryke: Thank God for Ken Whisenhunt, eh? Congratulations. The Cards look to be on their way to a 4-2 start (I figure St. Louis is a given, and with the Panthers allowing an average 22 points a game, Arizona ought to pull that one out, too...); unfortunately, they won't finish any better than 9-7; they'll be playing for a wild-card berth, fighting it out with Oakland, Cleveland, Baltimore, Cincinatti, perhaps the Texans and oh, yeah, Carolina right through Week 17. They have a tough schedule, at least until they return home Christmas week for their final two games against Atlanta and the Rams. Sorry, dude. Love hurts... I know, I'm a lifelong resident of Red Sox Nation.

Vive: Yes, I did in fact mean the Thunderin' Herd of Boulder. Man, what a weekend. Bookies must be pulling their hair out, if they're not getting their kneecaps whacked.

Hero: I absolutely agree. Matter of fact, right here and now, I'm going to "call" the National Championship game: Cal vs. LSU, a home game for the Tigers since it'll be played, for the first time since Katrina, at the Louisiana Superdome. The Trojans will be tripped up by Cal, no less. (LSU wins, 34-20.)

Number Six: Actually, I agree. Stand by; I'm about to create a new thread for just this sort of off-topic topic.

Oh, and Chien? Sorry, man. Who knew there were this many (American, a.k.a. "real") football [grin] fans 'round here? Hey, though, it's not too late... Even your new President is becoming a fan of America, why not learn a little about American-rules football? After all, NFL Europa needs more fans, and with you on-board, their audience would pretty much double...

Btw, you don't need a dictionary... just go to www.espn.com, then click NFL.

I remain, as always...

Nico.

P.S. Tony Romo isn't "the next" Troy Aikman, after all; he's the next Brett Fahv. Ruh.

Re: Grind House... I'll buy 'em both together, with all the extras, or not at all.

...Anyone else getting very, very impatient, edging into exasperated and bordering on murderous, btw, with the by-now predictable marketing-department dance of: {A} Theatrical release, {B} "Minimal" DVD release; {C} "Extras" DVD release; {D} "Unrated" DVD release; {E} "Director's Cut" DVD Release; and finally {F} "Anniversary" DVD release? (With, potentially, an "Alternate Ending" or "1.5" DVD Release thrown in there, somewhere, say at {C2} and {E2}?) I mean, look, I'm fine with there being a "bare-bones" release for casual fans and renters, as well as a "loaded" or "special edition" release, followed say five or ten years later by some "ultimate" director's edition. Fine. But as it stands right now, if you want EVERYTHING there is out there for, say, Alexander (and, really, who would? However, I digress...), you've got to be willing to buy version after version after version, and we're not even getting to the Blu-Ray or HD-DVD crap yet. Enough is too much, I say, dammit... what the Hell's next, "unexpurgated" versions? (At {4Q2}, perhaps?) Put out a "cheap" version, at EXACTLY the same time as the "fully loaded" version, then follow it up down the road with an Absolutely. Final. Damn. Version!, then call it a friggin' day. (Then, of course, start pimping the "next-generation" version, which btw looks like it's going to be out there before we ever figure out the dominant medium between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world.)

Now, THAT's a rant. [Grin]

I agree. I had a fun time on Easter watching Grind House in the theater. I'm just waiting until the movies come out together.

300 is much better than Troy. Troy was good and all but 300 was bonafide bad-ass.

I consider 300 to be better but that would be a pretty uneducated guess considering I've only seen half of Troy.

I was forced to go see 300. I liked the action, but didn't like the story. Troy was a mess (I had a big crush on Orlando Bloom at the time, so that was my reasoning for liking it and seeing it twice), but three hot guys made up for the crappy movie .

I am marginal on both movies.

Nico, don't bother trying to seduce me into *your* football (the fake one). We have enough sports in Europe, we don't need the sissy one of yours [wink].
Tonight France will challenge New Zeland in rugby, I won't even watch the game, and the french will probably lose, but I'd rather watch this game that any of your football games. It's nothing personal [grin].

As for monsieur Sarkozy, %$*# him
I didn't vote for the $%#"^, so as far as I'm concerned, he doesn't represent what I think or what I am. Please don't judge me or my fellow citizens according to Sarko. Please don't. Or you'll have a really, really bad opinion of me.
